What application creates .gent (General Entity) files?

Hello,

I am trying to find an application (if it exists) that actually
creates .gent files (General Entity).

Also, I am wondering if I can import .gent files into Dreamweaver? Perhaps
with a custom designed plugin for DW's Extension Manager?

I need to be able to edit these .gent files with quality word processing
application or web editor. I do not wish to edit with Notepad.

Any information that can be provided is really appreciated.

Thanks,

I've never come across that filetype. What context do you have it in?

What is the content of a .gent file? If it is (as the name implies) a
file of General Entity declarations, it can only be used as part of a
DTD for which it was designed. If Dreamweaver can process DTDs, then
it should be able to handle such a file if it is referenced correctly.
Perhaps with a custom designed plugin for DW's Extension Manager?
Again, where did you find such files and what's in them>

That would not be meaningful if they are files of General Entity
declarations, because that are all plaintext
or web editor
Equally meaningless.
I do not wish to edit with Notepad.

Only masochists edit with Notepad. You need a proper XML editor.

Note: I tried cross-posting this message to several newsgoups, including comp.lang.perl.misc, c.l.p.moderated, comp.infosystems.www.authoring.cgi, comp.lang.javascript and comp.lang.php. Nothing appeared on my news server, so I'm trying again - this time posting a separate copy of the message to each group. I'm thinking this should be fairly easy to accomplish - a quick and dirty ... what? ... script? program?

I think everyone who used Python will agree that its syntax is the best thing going for it. It is very readable and easy for everyone to learn. But, Python does not a have very good macro capabilities, unfortunately. I'd like to know if it may be possible to add a powerful macro system to Python, while keeping its amazing syntax, and if it could be possible to add Pythonistic syntax to Lisp or Scheme, while keeping all of the...

Hello everyone, I'm having trouble using Xerces2(2.4, 2.5) when validating against an XML schema if a general entity reference is defined within the XML file. The error I'm getting is this: "org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Element type "personnel" must be declared." Xerces1(1.4.3, 1.4.4) doesn't have an issue with this. As is XML Spy.

Hi Pythonist(a/o)s I am interested if anyone can shed any light on a web application problem, both in the specific details (see below) but also in the theory of how to do ad hoc data processing and exploration through a web interface (a tall order, I think). It is apropos of my job, if you hadn't guessed, but the problem (and the solution) might be of more general interest. I am going to describe the problem as well as I can below. ...

Ubuntu Drake comes with or allows you to install something called "entity" which sounds like it ought to be the world's ultimate Python GUI tool. Nonetheless all I can get it to do looks like this: Usage: entity -V Print version and exit. -g Turn on debug messages. Accepts domain as argument, or 'all' -a Load all files on command line into Entity. -m Generate module config files. -l ...

One thing i do know for sure. When one creates a CPP file, one needs to include the H file. Now, having said that, i wonder if there are some general hints, requirements or standard guide lines on what and how to include. Suppose that we have a project consisting of a number of classes and structs. Some of them using the others, some using all of them. What is a good approach when including? --

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
