Looking for a breaking news rss feed that really contains breaking news

Amy
I am looking for an rss feed that contains really important breaking
news like "A large Tsunami just hit Asia" or "Terrorists attack the
World Trade Center", but is empty if there really isn't anything that
important going on. All the rss feeds I've looked at contain quite a
few entries as breaking news or top headlines, none of which seem
really that urgent.

Does anyone know of a good feed, or can point me to a more appropriate
place to ask this question?

Hi there, I've searched high and low for this, but it seems most people are looking to establish (and control) the relationship between a parent browser window and it's associated child window created with window.open. I would like to break this connection. Why? Because there is an application that I want to open in a new window, but no matter what I do it will close the window and redirect the original (parent) window to its location...

Hi. I found the following when trying to learn if there is such a thing as a non-breaking hyphen. Apparently Unicode has a ‑ but that is not well-supported, especially in older browsers. Somebody somewhere said: Alternately, you can use CSS to declare a class having: ..nowrap { white-space:nowrap } .... and then wrap the compound word in a <span class=nowrap></span> tag (or any other suitable inline tag). You can also try {...

I saw that Microsoft have released a list of breaking changes in .Net here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/netframework/programming/breakingchanges/runtime/default.aspx While this is useful, it seems to be missing a change that has broken a lot of my applications, relating to the order in which members are returned by reflection. At least I can't find it. I reported the bug on ladybug:...

Hi, A newcomer to .Net (I've held out as long as I can.). I am using VS.Net 2003. I am writing some web apps and I am confronted with the usual issues that one faces when coming from a Windows, Apache, Mysql, PHP (WAMP) background. Is it a common practice, or even acceptable, to insert addition form tags to avoid the issues of passing form data to another webform, triggering validator controls for unrelated input controls, etc. ?

Hello, I have a string that I am trying to add each char to a datatable row. for example if I have a string that looks like "abcdefg", I would like to break it up into an array of characters so I can do this: myDataTable.Rows.Add(array()) instead of myDataTable.Rows.Add("a","b","c","d","e","f","g")

I would like to be able to send from an ASP.NET page an email which when recieved takes the form of a "Sharing Invitation for a RSS Feed" (http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA101595391033.aspx) I've found a MSDN article about it (http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb176432.aspx) but that example is presented as a vb(a) script from within outlook. Can this functionality be emulated from sending an email from C#? TIA

Hi, I am building a small Help Desk application for my company and need to be able to edit "open" help desk issues. I use a simple datagrid to display each issue (6 per page) , with an Edit button. There are a lot of fields across, and my Network Admins would like a way of editing/updating each issue seperately in a a vertical form. I need a way of clicking on the edit button ,bringing up a form with the record, editng the fields, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
