Hi.. I've got some code I wrote in PHP that will generate a new argument
string for the browser, but the xhtml parser in Firefox and Opera both
complain about my use of &var=value pairs.
Below is my code that generates the string :
function InvokeURL(url_to_forward_to)

I am writing a parser for xml that will not have
an associated DTD. I want to be able to handle
certain character references (e.g., ©) in
the program.
When I run the following against a chunk of xml
containing ©, I get the following:
org.xml.sax.SAXParseException: Reference to undefined entity "©".

I need to do some cross-platform XML in C++.
Previously I have used Xerces, but some Googeling indicated that many
people prefer libxml. Also it is UTF-8, which is easier for us
(Xerces is UTF-16) . So I decided to use libxml++ for my prototype.
On Windows it took much longer to set up than Xerces, had to find some
obscure DLLs before it would run, Got a GPF at a point, and did the
rest of the prototype in Xerces.

I am inquiring for a customer of mine who is using XMetal 3.0 as an
XML editor. I am trying to add default content to an element so that
this content is inserted when the element is inserted.
In more detail: When using XMetal to view an XML file in 'tags on'
view, you are able to view the attributes and the elements that are
allowed within each tag depending on where you are in the document.
From here you can select the tag you are...

I have an element that looks like this:
<PhoneNumber><NUMBER></PhoneNumber>
I would like to have the content returned as "<NUMBER>".
Not only don't I get the character references resolved, but also what is
only one Text-node child of the element-node becomes several nodes (When I
have character references)

I'm writing a "tabbed folder" nav bar. Site standards are graphical
prettiness, CSS throughout, valid code, but accesibility is ignored
where it conflicts with prettiness.
The particular issue here is that the graphic designer wants a pretty
(non-webbable) font on the shaded nav tabs, so I'm reduced to using
bitmaps. To make the 4-way rollovers ("current" and "hover" states)
work I'm using the standard "rollerblind" technique with a...

I have a number of web projects converted from 1.1 to 2.0 in VS2005.
I am methodically seeing the error below:
The element 'compilation' has invalid child element 'compilers'. List of
possible elements expected: 'assemblies, buildProviders, codeSubDirectories,
expressionBuilders'.
Here's what the web config looks like. The error doesn't cause any issues
and according to the MSDN documentation this is valid. So why is VS2005

How can I force those 5 special character types to be translated?

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
