Hi,
Does anyone know a (open source) way of transforming MathMl in DocBook
documents to PDF, along with the DocBook stuff ? Preferrably not that
LaTex back ned hack.
I can find loads of programs on the MathML page, just not that.

Hello everybody,
I managed to get formulas from docbook to latex
using the db2latex stylesheets. I even managed to
get those formulas into HTML via the dvi2bitmap program.
The last obstacle is getting formulas into Word in an "easy" way.
The best way would be a stylsheet that converts latex formulas to
mathML. I know I ask for a lot but maybe someone has an even better
idea. Any hints are welcome.

What's the best way to maintain HTML documentation and generate a PDF
that has a Table of Contents, and an Index that has the CORRECT page
numbers for the pdf. I don't see any way to do this in Acrobat 7 Pro.
What's the right tool. I want to generate my documentation that
looks JUST LIKE the acrobat help file that has a Contents tab, Search
tab and Index tab with a browseable index. THANKS !!!!

format to the following 2 formats:

Are there any free apps that can do this?
I need to have them create the table of contents and the indexes from
my tags also.

I'm learning for docbook under win32.
I download:
openjade-1_3_1-2-bin
docbook-xml-4.4
docbook-dsssl-1.79
ldp.dsl
And then copy all openjade bin\ to win32 system\, and then create a
directory share\ under my workhome.
Copy openjade-dsssl, docbook-xml-4.4, docbook-dsssl-1.79 to share\.
ldp.dsl into docbook-dsssl-1.79\html\.

I am trying to get started with using Docbook/xml using free tools and
am stymied in generating printable documentation from even the simplest
source. I have attempted to generate a PDF using xmlto (which I guess is
a shell interface to xsltproc) for the docbook source on a variety of
platforms: Debian GNU/Linux stable, Gentoo GNU/Linux, FreeBSD, and Cygwin.
In no case have I been successful, and the error messages are certainly not...

Greetings,
what is the correct way to mark a variable using Docbook? I do not mean
the name of a variable from some program code. There is <varname> for
this. I mean something like:
Let n be the number of files. ...
I'd like to mark the 'n' somehow. In LaTeX one would do $n$.

Hello,
I want to mix in the same document Parts that have automatically
numbered sections and parts which section are not numbered.
Is there any out of the box way to locally suppress the automatic
numbering of section like in latex using \section*{} instead of
\section{} ?
Or should I customize the XSLT with a new kind of section

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
