XMLparser: Difference between parser.setError Handler() vs. parser.setConte ntHandler()

What is the difference between

parser.setConte ntHandler

and

parser.setError Handler

for a XMLParser ?

Can I apply both functions to DOM AND to SAXParsers or only to one of them ?

Can I apply both function to an JAXP based implementation or to an NON-Jaxp based implementation as well?

Is there a preferred way of passing data out of a Sax parser? My Sax content handler constructa an object for the rest of the program to use, but I'm not sure how to pass it to the rest of the program. Ways I can see: a. Put it in a global (blech!) b. Add a parameter to the handler's __init__ method, that takes some sort of mutable object, and put the answer into that object.

Hi, it seems that xmlproc, the default Validating parser, in my setup does not call back to setDocumentLocator. Is there anyway to get a locator in my handler? Below you find an example and its output. Regards, Cees # base imports

Hello, I am trying to pinpoint an apparent bug in HTML::Parser. The encoding of the text seems to change incorrectly if the locale isn't set properly. However Parser.pm in the directory (/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/HTML/) doesn't seem to contain the "real" parsing statements.

What is the difference between parser.setFeature("http://xml.org/sax/features/validation",true); and parser.setFeature("http://apache.org/xml/features/validation/schema",true); and parser.setValidating(true); when I prepare a SAX/DOM parser for validation of an xml/xsd scheme

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
