question on insecure Id/ID/id search method

This question is more XML Security (and specifically, on the
Apache XML security implementation) .

When I sign or open signed XML document, I see the
following warning:

....
WARNING: Found an Element using an insecure Id/ID/id search method:
claim:StreetAnd Number
Apr 27, 2004 3:41:10 PM org.apache.xml. security.utils. IdResolver
getElementById
WARNING: Found an Element using an insecure Id/ID/id search method:
claim:City
Apr 27, 2004 3:41:10 PM org.apache.xml. security.utils. IdResolver
getElementById
WARNING: Found an Element using an insecure Id/ID/id search method:
claim:State
Apr 27, 2004 3:41:11 PM org.apache.xml. security.utils. IdResolver
getElementById
WARNING: Found an Element using an insecure Id/ID/id search method:
claim:Zip
Apr 27, 2004 3:41:11 PM org.apache.xml. security.utils. IdResolver
getElementById
....

What does that mean exactly?

TIA.

a dumb question i had on my mind: Say you have a dynamically created web page . Isn't it more secure to write it in php since a visitor will not be able to tell it is dynamically created? But if you write it in perl, you have to put it in your cgi-bin which automatically means it's a dynamically generated page? security by obscurity . Is this true or hardly means anything? thx!

I have a template driven site, the template is full of images and links. At some point (during a secure order) the user is redirected to a secure server (different domain) using the same template. Now, I want the links to point back to the old insecure domain. I could use a base href to do that (links are all / relative, ie: /info.html) but then the images (also root referenced) would be drawn from the insecure domain and there might...

This might not be the right group for this question, since its kind of a pure html question... Given the html construct: <form action='index.php?expand=0,10000' method='post'> Email: <input type='text' name='login' size='30'/> Password:<input type='password' name='login' size='30'/> </form>

Hello, i got a little understanding Problem. on some http-Sites i can log into my Account with Name/Passwort. The Form-Login-Page ist only http with form action directing to a "secure" https page. So - in my understanding the username and password is send uncrypted over the Net. Only the later Communication is done secure. Am i right that only a https login-Form-page would be safe?

I have a question about spawning and displaying subordinate list controls within a list control. I'm also interested in feedback about the design of my search application. Lots of code is at the end of this message, but I will start with an overview of the problem. I've made a content management solution for my work with a decently structured relational database system. The CMS stores articles. The CMS also stores related items --...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
