Upgrading Windows Server 2K3, SP2 Standard Edition to Enterprise

We have six servers running Windows Server 2003 SP2, Standard Edition that we
would like to upgrade to Windows Server 2003, Enterprise Edition. I've been
having difficulty with the upgrade, because the setup program keeps telling
me that the Windows version on the box is newer than the one on the CD. I've
tried rolling back SP2 on our test box, but that does not solve the problem.
I've also tried running winnt32.exe from the \i386 directory; no joy. Am I
missing a component? Is there a step I've neglected to take? I would much
prefer to upgrade those six servers instead of reinstalling the OS from
scratch.

I have an MSDN subscription, and have all versions of Windows Server 2003 available. I have been programming in Visual Studio .NET 2002 in Windows XP and 2000, and I am setting up a new machine with .NET 2003 for new projects. My question is, which version of Windows Server 2003 (Standard, Enterprise, Web) is best for .NET development? I am only using the computer for development, I won't be running any of my applications from it. ...

Dear All, We have a database which contains many tables which have millions of records. When We attach the database with MS SQL Server 2005 Standard Edition Server and run some queries (having joins, filters etc.) then they take very long time to execute while when We execute same queries on Enterprise Edition then they run 10 times faster than on standard edition. Our database does not use any features which are present in Enterprise

we just ordered VS 2005 standard edition. i was reading up on creating windows services and apparently this is only possible with the enterprise edition. is this true, or does it simply mean there's no template for windows services with the standard edition? are there VS templates published by 3rd parties i can download to ease implementation? tks

Hello, Our company has developed several Access applications for our clients and we wish to expand to use a database server. We wish to use Access as the front end application and SQL Server 2005 as the back end Databes Server. Making a Server-Client application database. I'm very new to SQL Server so my concern is how the licensing works for a developer like us. I am aware that we can purchase the Developer edition for $49 USD. Our...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
