Output methods

My scenario is:

I need to produce documentation from an application that stores data in
XML and a RDBMS. The desired output format is mainly to be used for
print. The goal would be to be able to provide alternatives like HTML
output and PDF output. The "dream" is to be able to provide editable
output in a format that can handle both text, links and images. The
images are .svg and there is an export function available (Ilog Jview).

Well, my question is: Am I dreaming, is it worth pursuing this or should
I stick with the HTML and PDF? Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. :)

Hello, I posted previously under the thread: How to break this up into streambuf/ostream I've asked our library to get "C++ IOStreams and Locales..." by A. Langer et al. Meantime, I've looked at the C++ standard (ISO/IEC 14882) from the web to get a grip on the relationship between ostream methods and streambuf methods: flush(), operator<<(), sputc(),

This is just a general question (Access 97). For exporting text from an Access database to another one, what would be the advantages/disadvantages of the two output/transfer methods? Is one more reliable/consistent than the other? If they are comparable, what is the reason for having two separate methods? Any opinions will be appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, I'm programming a WinForm application. I would like to enter commands that will send output that will help me to locate bugs in the future. I know that there is a way to send output by using the Console.Write command. The question is how can I see the outputs in the client machine ? Is there a specific programm to do it or Can I use the prompt window ?

I'm trying to capture output from a command line utility (XMLSec), but only get an empty result. If I call the script from the command line, I see XMLSec's output, but I can't seem to capture it! My PHP installation is working correctly and captures other command line output just fine, XMLSec is the only exception I've found. I've also tried a couple of other systems to confirm this behavior. Capture methods I've tried include:

Hello everybody! I'm having a little problem with the following: I wrote a class to collect data (Let's call it DataCollector). Now I want the data to be interpreted in various ways. My idea was to write an interface (iVisualizer) so DataCollector could use every user defined (MyVisualizer) class implementing it. Saying "MyVisualizer extends DataCollector" is not an option, since the data should only be collected once and then then...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
