Originally, TransferText was a wrapper for a Jet append query.
OutputTo was a code loop that looped through a form, report
or recordset and read the field/control values and copied them
to a file.
I think that is still the case.
The reason was that Jet append queries were easy and simple,
but couldn't be used to output a form or report.
I can't think of any advantages/disadvantages, except that
they are slightly different, and can sometimes only one of
the two is easily available.

This is just a general question (Access 97). For exporting text from an
Access database to another one, what would be the
advantages/disadvantages of the two output/transfer methods? Is one
more reliable/consistent than the other? If they are comparable, what
is the reason for having two separate methods? Any opinions will be
appreciated. Thanks.
