Data Islands - Should I bother.

I am writing a small app to provide a user friendly front end for
specifying facets for an XML Schema simple type.

I need to present a form via which users can update the facets and
was thinking of using data islands.

2 issues immediately spring to mind. - 1 how do you bind XML
attributes to an HTML form and what happens to your bindings when
namespaces are involved.

I am just wondering whether I should try and write a transformation
instead.

PS I am relatively new to all this stuff.

I've been using MySQL for several months and enjoyed great success when installing other people's scripts to databses I make using phpMyAdmin. My challenge is developing from scratch the scripts, for which I've got good resources, manuals, and much time into practice and test. My question is three-fold, as I have 14,000 records of Security Dealers that I want to install in MySQL at www.securitydealers.com

I have been tasked to create an app that will be run from a CD on stand-alone machines that needs to search and retrieve data from an XML Data Island. The best approach that I can see to handle this is to use DHTML/Javascript since this needs to be a browser-independent application. The trouble I am running into is on how to accomplish this. Is this the best approach to handle this situation? If so how would I go about

Can href= value be filled in by a datafld variable? After reviewing the link object, data islands and anchors array, there's something missing here. I would like to keep an XML file of URLs and have them display as links in a table on an HTML page. Ah...but they have to look and behave like links! I'd be ok with faking them to look like links and responding to a mouseclick if I could figure out how to pass the table row into the

What are the ways data can be transported/moved among these Products. SQL Server, Access and Excel. The main ways are: Replication Service, BackUp and Restore, Data Link Server,Import/Export Utility, BCP Utility, Using Database APIs(DAO, ADO etc). Is there any other way to transform data from each of three products to eachof three products separately.

I have a table which is bound to an Internet Explorer XML data island. I'm using ASP.NET's client-side validators for an input field in the table. The problem is that if the input fields are in a table that is bound to the island (such that the rows are dynamically generated by IE from the XML data island), the validators do not work. If the table is not bound, the validators do work, but then I don't have the table iterating through...

I had a couple questions about data caching. We have a site that gets a huge amount of traffic to a few specific pages that have a lot of data on them (300k hits/hour during peak, about 6-10 data calls per page OR 500 SQL calls per second). Most of the data doesn't change more than once ever 10 minutes. Basically they are data islands with specific content. We have already implemented a singleton that manages a connection pool. This...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
