Excel / .Net: Extract a given Range into Picture or X(HT)ML?

Hello there,

Is there any -reliable- way to extract certain, given ranges in excel
files into either a picture (each) or into proper xhtml? I am asking
because I am currently automating a document transformation from
several hundred thousand xhtml datasets into a .pdf via proper xml +
xsl-fo transformation, but one of the constraints is to open all file://
links that point to .xls files to appear in the .pdf, too.

Now what we had in our old, very very flacky system was opening the
excel files one by one, select the range, use the semi-
stable .CopyPicture(.. .) method of excel and paste that (from the
clipboard!) into a graphic file etc etc. Which, apparently, is
bullcrap.
Now with all the xsl-fo transformation hotness, we still can use
images -or- proper xml or xhtml for that, but I am kinda lost what
else there is to do beside utilizing the clipboard for only a range of
rows/cells in a excel file without loosing the format and the actual
data.

Does anyone know any reliable, native .net excel/biff reading
libraries that could accomplish this? Or does the Office Interop
actually provide a stable solution for that kinda scenario?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers & thanks,
-Jörg

Hello: Sorry if I'm asking obvious questions but I'm still a little on the fringe of the python scene... I'm slowly migrating from Delphi/Kylix to Python/Wx to facilitate cross-platform development. Python in particular is a really good fit for the type of development I do. I'm also a little shakey on the ramifications of dot net but it seems conceivable that at some point any Win32 apps will need to run as managed code. Looking a

Note this is crossposted to comp.lang.javacript and microsoft.public.dotnet.scripting. Hi, How do i listen for windows messages in c# on compact.net? I have a window containing an instantiation of the HTML viewer control, which is a child of the main form. As the compact implementation of the form class does not have a wndproc function to override, i cannot get the messages. I cannot use a message window, as the window i am listening to will then not display. Is there another method of doing this?

I promise. I have tried everything I could find. http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnnetsec/html/SecNetHT05.asp (and much more) I have an asp (not .net) page on a server which is not a domain controller (2003 server in a 2000 forest). The asp page on the server hits a database on another server. For whatever reason, I either get invalid path when I use a DSN or opened exclusively or permission

Is there a good resource, or could somebody please guide me on MIME-type interaction in .Net? What I want to do, is build an application that could open files of a certain type (for argument sake say a file type of .xyz). When the user double clicks on a file with that extension, windows will load my application since the mime type of my application is related to .xyz files. That part is done, the catch here is, if I already have an...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
