Serialization: "Object Graphs"

Hi guys:

I have been studying about serialization and I have found this
concept: "object graphs", which is not very clear for me.
I have found that it is a limitation of the XML serialization that it
does not serialize object graphs, whereas binary and soap
serializations do.
I am kind of confuse with this,

Can someone help me?

I'm currently writing a JS->Scheme compiler (which, using Bigloo, automatically yields a JS->C, JS->JVM, JS->.NET compiler), and have a question concerning the function-parameters: According to the spec (10.1.6) the activation-object already contains the the parameters-object when the variables are instantiated (10.1.3). The question is now: does a parameter "parameters" overwrite the "parameters"-object or not? All three implementations...

I come from Java and an Object would be the class whist object would likly be the varible to an object. I get the impression with C# that object is just an alias to the Base Class Object. Can anyone enlighten me as to any differences and by convention if I had a method that returns an object should I use one over the other. public object ReturnIt( ) { return new Blah( ); }

Hi there, I'm very new to dot net programming and webservices programming. I've managed to create simple webservices so far. Here's my problem: -I've been given a project which needs to have a proprietary algorithm split into a webservice.

Hello all, Working on a W2K3 box with Framework version 1.1.4322 here. I've implemented a Web service in VB.NET by generating a server skeleton off the WSDL and overriding the abstract class. This Web service operates correctly. To conform to standards set by our group recently, I reworked the WSDL to reflect namespace changes and reimplemented the service in both VB.NET and C# (as neither work now). When compared, the only...

Hi all, Hope I am posting this in the right forum. I seem to be having a problem when using serialization and web services. <b>Scenario:</b> I have built a web service which includes a multitude of web methods. All the web methods have various parameters, but one parameter which they all have in common is an 'object' parameter. This is due to the fact that the web service works differently according to the type of object being...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
