Visual Studio 2008 Standard - Microsoft Visual Studio is Busy Error

8 New Member
I recently upgraded from Visual Studio 2005 to Visual Studio 2008 Standard.

While I have a solution open and I am working on a .aspx file, sometimes (every 10 minutes or so) when I highlight code / make a selection, VS freezes up for about 20 to 30 seconds and displays the following message:

Microsoft Visual Studio is Busy
Microsoft Visual Studio is waiting for an internal operation to complete. If you regularly encounter this delay during normal usage, please report this problem to Microsoft.

I did not get this error within VS 2005.

Any suggestions?
thanks!

Mine used to that til I upgraded one more time to Professional Edition. You get a ton more help and quicker. But after the second upgrade it hasn't done it to the point of error... Just kinda freezes for 3 minutes then comes around to me after I click a bunch of times in frustration. Good Luck on that issue.

I've done a little digging around, and it seems like an open issue...at least the top hits on google are. I haven't read a resolution there yet. Hopefully someone has had this problem and fixed it. I hope I never get it.

lol, I will have to update my address book.

We only have 2 people in our shop and we work off a network drive, not locally. We think this might have something to do with it since my co-worker has had the same issue occasionally.

What we have decided to do is to use something like sourcegear, work locally, then check the files in and out. Hopefully this will resolve it.

thank you again for the responses.

The good news: Along with Python-2.4 comes really good news to Windows users. Yes, you now CAN build extension modules yourself using the SAME C++ compiler and linker Python is built with itself. Everything you need is available at no costs (except download hassle and installation time). Once your system is set up properly its just a matter of running 'python setup.py build'. No longer waiting for someone else to build binaries and a...

So, what is the relationship between Visual Studio and Visual Web Developer. I find a lot of documentation on MSDN that presents Visual Web Developer as it's own stand-alone product (which I'd expect of the Express editions), but apparently there are NON Express versions of Visual Web Developer. Is Visual Web Developer only built-in to Visual Studio 2008 Professional? I see "Microsoft Visual Web Developer 2008" listed as an installed...

It is aimed at the beginning CIS student who is struggling to get their programs working. I'm not sure if this is an IIS 5.1 issue or ASP.NET issue, or Visual Studio 2008 issue -- thus posting to 3 groups. Please don't be offended. The problem I'm encountering is that Visual Studio closes unexpectedly and without any error message being displayed, or error messages written to the system logs. Visual Studio closes when I attempt to open an ASP.NET Web application (not Web site) solution for which IIS is set as the project's...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
