Reusable n-tier data class object creation, supporting Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and LINQ

Reading, Berkshire, UK 05 June 2007 - Crainiate Software make details
available of the release of Objecto Framework 2.0, an upgrade to their
enterprise business component framework, designed to make it easy for
programmers to create agile persisted business objects that are
reusable, customisable and scalable, without additional developer
tools.

Objecto uses object persistence and managed database technology to
allow developers to create objects that are seamlessly deployed, saved
to and retrieved from a relational database such as Microsoft SQL
Server. The Enterprise edition includes a remoting provider and
support for clustering in a multi server environment. Now with full
support for Microsoft Language Integrated Query (LINQ) to increase
development speed and ease.

Entire CRM, Financial and other business systems created using Objecto
can be reused and extended by other developers, without access to the
original source code and without manual changes to the underlying
database. Systems using Objecto are more agile and can be changed and
redeployed more quickly.

New features include:

* Full support for Language Integrated Query (LINQ) to access
persisted database objects through the Objecto Framework provider
engine.
* Tightly integrated add-ins for development and deployment directly
through the next edition of Microsoft Visual Studio 2008
* A predesigned library of common objects for rapid creation of entire
business object frameworks.

James Westgate, Technical Director of Crainiate Software: "LINQ's
query language syntax is a perfect fit for developers using Objecto
framework and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. It provides the
flexibility of a SQL-like query syntax with the performance benefits
of a precompiled database stored procedure."

"Using the power of the Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0, Microsoft Visual
Studio 2008 and SQL Server 2005, Objecto Framework 2.0 will help
developers concentrate on delivering flexible business solutions on
time and within budget" said Joe Marini, Group Manager of the Visual
Studio Industry Partners program at Microsoft Corp.

The standard version of the Objecto Framework 2.0 will be made
available for use free of charge. More information can be obtained
from the Crainiate website www.crainiate.net or by contacting

For those of you who think that using XSL/XML to create your HTML output from a PHP application is not a viable proposition as XSL is a clunky language, it is too verbose and it cannot get the job done, then I say THINK AGAIN! By understanding how XSL works I have taken each of my page layouts, constructed a library of reusable XSL templates (equivalent to subroutines) and built a set of generic XSL stylesheets which can be used for many...

Since this topic has come up several times in other threads, I thought I'd make a separate thread and gather opinions from (hopefully) a more varied range of newsgroup participants. What are your thoughts on the development and use of generalized, reusable javascript libraries? Discussion points: 1) Is the overhead of a 25k (for example) .js file too much for a typical

Where can I learn more about reusable businesss objects and their uses? I've been reading that one of .Net's advantages is that a developer can write reusable business objects. I would like to implement these into my code and make it more portable. Thanks, Dale

I want to create a reusable User Control that takes a large amount of text and formats it (border, cssclass, etc). I can create a UC with the formatting...that's easy. But, each time I use it, how to I provide it a bunch of text...without using a separate file or DB? Simply put, I want to drag this UC onto a page, then add a bunch of text in the page, but have it associated (embedded?) with the control. Amil

In a blog from Scott Guthrie (http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2005/08/28/423888.aspx) I found a sample to build a UserControl Library inside one ASP.NET project and then deploy it to other projects and reuse it. He suggests that you "publish" the web site to a directory and include this directory into your (second) web site. I tried this but VS (and the aspnet_compiler) complains that my user control now is implemented twice. When...

Hello... We are in the process of evaluating a migration strategy to VS2005 and ASP.NET 2.0 from .NET 1.1. In our existing .NET 1.1 applications, we have several controls (ASCX's) that provide stock content to several websites. We want to persist that idea into our newer and/or migrated applications, eg build a control to contain the text (and some small javascript code) in one place, then put that control in a library, then just pull...

Hi, I'm new to php, and all of the examples I've seen show php code embedded in html documents. My question is: How do you create and organize reusable classes or modules? What kinds of files are used, what's the directory structure, and how are these referenced from php applications?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
