Web Pages Opening Small in Windows XP

I'm not exactly sure how to state this problem. One of my students emailed
me that when she tries to open a web page through IE it opens small and she
has to hit the maximize button to make it the correct size. I know I've seen
this on other puters but don't know what causes it. I'm sure it's some
setting....but have looked at all of mine and can't figure out what it could
be. I've had great luck in the past with questions and am hoping someone out
there can give me a clue. THanks in advance!!

Let me start by saying this is completely the wrong place to ask. It's like
questions asking about Battlestar Galactica at a Star Trek convention. Good
chance somebody will know the answer, but nobody wants to be bothered with
it.
... she has to hit the maximize button to make it the correct
size.
That said: try resizing the window manually (by grabbing the sides) rather
than maximizing it. That should help. But please do take similar questions
elsewhere next time. Thanks!

Well, I entered the query under "General Questions"..... it seemed to me that
it's a pretty general quesiton.....no t at all sure what Martin's problem
is.....why is this an inappropriate place for that question?

I still don't know why this is the wrong place, and I found your reply to be
pretty snippy....but THANK you for giving me the answer I needed, Martijn! I
tried what you suggested and it worked like a charm....it was not a problem
I'd ever had personally, so didn't have a clue as to how it could be fixed.

I don't know what mechanism you used to post, but ultimately this is the
microsoft.publi c.dotnet.genera l newgroup (usenet if you like) which means
the subject is general questions about the .NET framework, primarly
programming questions. Your question is about Internet Explorer, and there
is actually a microsoft.publi c.internetexplo rer.general newsgroup if
whatever interface you're using offers some way into that.

Oooooooooooopss s Sorry....I just found English and General Questions....ha ve
no idea how I ended up in this area. Thanks for pointing out the error of my
ways without being nasty about it. Will try to do better in the future. I
really LOVE the discussion groups...cuz they're so helpful...but it is
sometimes difficult to find the correct group.

This is a best practices question. For a website where PHP is used, does it make sense to have both .htm and .php files? In other words, for pages that have no active content there's no point in naming them with a .php extension. Is there any advantage or disadvantage to making all files .php, or the same for mixing them with .htm files? What do you do, and why?

Hello. I am creating a form that has 5 steps/pages. Each page contains about 20 fields. But I don't want to write them until they submit on the last page. I figured out that I can use hidden fields to carry the data from the previous forms forward. If should bascially work like this: Page 1 Page 2 Page 3 Page 4 Page 5 Page 6 20 Fields 20 Fields 20 Fields 20 Fields 20 Fields 100 Hidden

I have a set of ASPX pages that work fine on my home computer (Vista), and on a server at work (XP). I just got a new laptop at work (XP) and these same files don't work on it. I installed IIS and dot.net on my new computer, but every time I try to access the ASPX pages locally (using http://localhost/main.aspx in the browser address bar), the browsers don't display the pages. Instead, a popup box asks if I want to open or save, and...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
