As well known I could specify the text color in the body tag like: <BODY TEXT=WHITE LINK=WHITE VLINK=RED ALINK=WHITE> What I want to achieve now is that always (!) the text of the last visited link and the text of the link under the cursor are red. All other links should be white. The problem with the construction above is that a visited link remains for the rest of the session red regardless wether it was visited 17 clicks back in...

Hi, After Brian mentioned the use for <link rel=..> for navigational purposes in another thread, I've been looking into it and found that HTML 3.2 has two other recognized link types than HTML 4.01, which are "top" and "search". I compared these two pages: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-html32-19970114#link http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/types.html#type-links

WITHOUT KNOWING ANYTHING ABOUT THE CURRENT COLORS, I want to swap the foreground/background colors of a link when someone hovers over it. Is this possible with HTML, CSS, DOM, & JavaScript? If so, how? See my HTML below (or go to my test page at http://fmbbowen.com:39353/misc/Misc.html). I also tried treating ..color as a number and subtracting the current color from 0xFFFFFF but that did not work either. The numerous examples I...

Hi, Sorry to repost, but this is becoming aggravating, and causing me a lot of wasted time. I've got a reasonably large mixed C++ project, and after a number of builds (but not a constant number) linking (and sometimes compiling) becomes immensely slow, and task manager shows that link.exe (or cl.exe) is barely using any processor time, but an awful lot of RAM (around 150-200MB). I'm going to keep an eye on page faults since I can't...

Hi all, I have written a Link list implementation in Python (Although it's not needed with Lists and Dictionaries present. I tried it just for the kicks !). Anyway here is the code - # Creating a class comprising of node in Link List. class linklist: def __init__(self, data=None,link=None): self.data = data self.link = link

Hi; I had a big link checking job to do and it has been years since I have done anything like that so I found a test page to use that I knew had bad links on it( a friends site ) and I decided to test the various free services out. I tried about 5 different link checkers on the test page I had , including Xenu and NetMechanic. I got 5 sets of identical results.

Hi everybody, I cannot understand the following thinks. The last line of the fillowing code produces a message about mistake (not a valid MySQL- Link resource): $link = mysql_connect( "localhost","tmp_user","tmpxxx" ); mysql_select_db( $db_name, $link); $link = mysql_connect( "localhost","tmp_user","tmpxxx" ); mysql_close( $link );

Is this possible? Instead of using the link wizard, can the FE/BE link be established any other way that users can simply type the link path? Thanks, Perry

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
