Hi all, I have a windows form that uses an imported COM class to talk to a legacy system. The COM object works asynchronously - An event is fired when data has been returned. This works fine, except that Im getting too many events fired! Thus my windows form becomes pretty sluggish and unresponsive, and CPU utilistaion is pretty high.

My KeyDown / KeyUp / KeyPress events are not firing; I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The code I'm using is basically straight from the manual. "this" refers to my Windows.Forms.Form object. this.KeyDown += new System.Windows.Forms.KeyEventHandler(this.MainForm_KeyDown); this.KeyPress += new

Hi all, I have designed user controls. One search control where I can search for items in the database and show them in a grid. This control also has a button which simply exposes it's click event. When clicking on the button in this control i want to add the selected rows in the grid to another grid, which is on my second control. I do this by handling the Click event of the button in my page and add the values to arraylist in the...

If I have a button for example on a form, is there a way that I can spy on which .Net events etc are being raised as I move over the button with the cursor, click on the button, leave input focus etc. The documentation tells me what they are but often I find I am trapping the wrong event, or that it didn't behave as expected. What I want is, for example, to move my cursor over a button and 'see' in another window that mouseenter event be...

Hi again, thanks everyone for your previous help. But having resolved past problems, I'm moving on to new problems :( This one is a simple winforms application with two buttons, named Button1 and Button2, on it (code below). When I press the mouse button over Button2, and don't release it, in the IDE output window it prints "Button2_MouseDown" only. If I release the mouse button over the button, over the form, or even over ANY other...

I have a simple form with one button and one text box. In the Form, I create an array list to track the events by adding a descriptive string item to the arraylist in each event. I first Click on the Button then Click on the TextBox and enter an "a" then click on the Button again. The following is what I get for the event tracking Arraylist: but - GotFocus but - Clicked but - LostFocus txt - Changed

Hi all I have two problems: Problem #1: I'm using a .NET Form with the property 'FormBorderStyle' set to 'None'. The idea is to completely cover the area of that Form with a UserControl. In order to be able to move that Form around with the mouse I have to implement EventHandlers for the MouseDown, MouseUp and MouseMove event. Now the problem I have is these Events will never be fired because the entire dialog is covered by the...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
