Unless you make a custom control (activex, java, maybe even flash?) there is not html control for this.
What do you need a directory selector for?

How do you propose to do that from a webpage?
Not with the server certainly, and I don't think client-side scripts have access to that kind of ability of o nthe client computer.

actually clients are required to upload there jpeg images on server...

so i want to this in bulk, i want to select a folder and want to copy its contents to server
at this moment, image by image is working perfectly, but i want to speed up the process through bulk upload.....

Edit: Well then you're going to have to write a java or activeX object to do this, because that behavior is not naturally supported.

Before i post actual code, as i need a speedyish reply. Can i first ask if anyone knows off the top of their head, if there is a likely obvious cause to the following problem. For the moment i've reduced my form request to a simple text string entry, instead of my desired optional parameters. As i have been stuck with a single unfathomable glitch for over a year. Basically, if i enter queries such as ; "select * from table" "select * from...

Friends! I need to show the dialog "select folder" and get the path selected, using vb.net. The OpenFileDialog control is useless as I want to select a folder and not a file. In vb6 I achieved this by an OCX called DPDLG, but in .net i do not find the solution neither this ocx works in .net. Any idea? sample code?

Hi, I'm trying to clear the TIF on Windows XP programmatically with the below code. This code works fine on any folder but the TIF. For some reason the atEnd() statements always defaults to true and no files are deleted in the folder. The peculiarity of this issue is that the files/subfolders cannot be seen through the windows explorer either. I can only access/delete them through a command shell. Any ideas?

I'm looking for a "smart folder" program to run on my Windows XP machine. I'm not having any luck finding it and think the logic behind the program is pretty simple, but I'm not sure how I'd implement this. I've done some VB6 programming and dabbled in VS.Net. Can someone share some pointers in how I could implement the following? Basically, you drag a file to the "smart" folder and, depending on the type of file and settings for that...

I'm having a lot of trouble with "file in use" errors in my "folder watcher" project. Starting and stopping the watcher and reading my XML file work fine. Once the watcher is started, I'm reading the text files from the watched folder line by line into variables and then posting them to a SQL table. All of the code for the form is shown below. And it works fine except for 2 issues. First issue: In the Finally of the Try for teh SQL...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
