Hi,
I have a .NET solution that contains a dll project and a tester application
project which, of course, invokes the dll. The dll project has exception
handling in it. What's happening is that when I run the executable from
within the .NET studio environment, thrown exceptions are caught and handled
correctly (both debug and release mode). However, if I run the executable
from outside the .NET studio, none of the exceptions get caught....

In Linq, you can apparently get a meaningful body from and
expression's .ToString(); random question - does anybody know if linq
also includes a parser? It just seemed it might be a handy way to
write a safe but easy implementation (i.e. no codedom) for an
IBindingListView.Filter (by compiling to a Predicate<T>).
Anybody know if this is possible at all?

I was using the following LINQ code in VS 2008 Beta 2:
MyDbDataContext database = new CodeDataContext();
database.Tags.remove(tag);
Now, with VS 2008 final release, I get an error on Remove:

Ok, today I decided to open vs 2008 and start to see what's the
changes. What's the best way to try do do something? So I decided to
read a stupid xml file with LinQ ... but ... strange thing despite the
2008 is the only version avalaible on my system ... framework 3.5 is
installed when I start to use var for variable inferering ... vs start
to mark it in red ... continuing ... from x ... red again.
Definitely there is something that...

I'm trying to compile some source code to interface LUA into C++. When I
compile in MSVC++ Express 2008, however, I get the error (among others):
....\luastate.h(129) : error C2027: use of undefined type
'cpplua::LuaFunction'
....\luastate.h(63) : see declaration of 'cpplua::LuaFunction'
So I'm trying to track this down. I see that there is a function trying to
return LuaFunction Like this:

I had a VS 2005 web app (not using Linq yet). I migrated to VS 2008 and the
app still worked fine.
Now I want to try out Linq. I modified the web.config to load the Linq DLLs
and added "using System.Linq". I also modified the properties Build to
target .NET 3.5. Writing code works fine, but...
When I compile, no Linq statements are recognized...they all result in
compile errors. How can I get my migrated web app to recognize Linq...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
