Upgrading from Windows 2000 to XP issue's

I have a Compaq nc 6120 that I am trying to upgrade too Windows XP. The
system has been checked for compatibility and it says that everything is
fine. When the program starts loading XP I get a blue screen that tells me if
it is the first time I have seen the screen reboot. In the Stop part I have
the two error messages.

Hello, (Note: if there is a FAQ that covers this issue just give me the URL. I checked python.org's General and Windows FAQ's and didn't see anything.) I am about to upgrade from Python 2.2 to 2.3. Here are a few questions: - Do I need to uninstall 2.2 first? - Are there any paths I should add to my Win 2k PATH environment variable? - I am running on Windows 2000 and I have several site-packages installed.

I have developed a VB.net application that transfers a SOAP wrapped message to another server securely(using SSL and sever/client certificates). When I run this app from a Windows 2000 Professional box everything works as expected, the secure channel is established and the message is sent properly. When I use the exact same app on the Windows 2000 Server(running IIS) box the app does not work properly. I have used a packet sniffer to...

Hi, I have just used the import Wizard to import a VS 2003 app to VS 2005. I have a lot of work to do to enable it to compile successfully with all the errors and warnings it gave me, but as a starting point the compiler can no longer find the function as at the bottom of this posting, that was in the Global.asax.vb file. All the function does is give an easy / quick way of getting the application

We recently upgraded some of our department's machines from WINNT to Windows 2000. Up until this point, we were running Access 2000 on WINNT and had no problems with our databases. After the upgrade, we have users running Win2000 and Access 2000. Here's a brief description of the problem. 1. I have a main form that loads when the application is launched. It contains a list box that queries for two columns from a table: an id number...

When I ordered my new laptop, Sony didn't offer Access 2003 in its bundles. Recently, I have begun to design Access databases using an copy of Access 2002 from my previous laptop. It works fine, but I would like to have all the office apps on the same version. So I have a few questions: 1) Is the file format the same as 2002? Can 2002 users read 2003 files? 2) What are the major reasons for upgrading to 2002 ?

Checking back for discussions, there was a lot of talk about 2000 being slower than 97, but not so much lately. What is the latest opinion? Anyone care to set up a poll for how many NG members are still using 97? 2000? I am slightly tempted to upgrade by a new client whose data is in 2000, but of course, I can just port it all back through Excel...right? and I guess I have seen a couple of nice features...

I have an Access application that is being used by 150+ clients. I develop in 97, convert to 2000 and distribute as a 97 or 2000 mde, or 97 runtime. This limits me to 97 functions. My clients may use any one of Access 97, 2000, 2002, 2003 or 97 runtime. So that I'm not lingering too far behind, I'm thinking of developing in 2003, using 2000 file format and distributing a 2000 mde for users of Access 2000+. (I understand I'll need to use...

Hello All, I have a major application for quoting and invoicing that is written in Access 97 (both front and back ends). I have a user base of over 300 customers, and currently I don't require that they have Access 97, as I use the access 97 runtime scripts from Sagekey software. The main problems I've seen with Access 97 are the built in e-mail support for sending reports. Unless a user uses the MS Outlook 2000/XP method, they have to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
