Hi there,
The first page of my Internet website must be INDEX.HTM.
But, if I want to embed some PHP code in this page, I must rename it to
INDEX.PHP.
Easy, but not simple, because INDEX.PHP will not load as the default
startup-page of my website.
So, my question is:
How can I embed some PHP code within a normal HTML page (without using the

Dear usenet,
I'm having the following small problem.
I've been ask to add some Quicktime panoramas to a website. The author of
the panoramas has made two versions of each: One in MOV format, which needs
a Quicktime plugin, and one Java applet. He's also kindly supplied me with
sample HTML code for each.
The code looks like this (simplified):

What I have currently:
I have a user control called mod_container.aspx that is basically two
divs -- the top a toolbar, that expands/collapse the second div which can
contain other modules/controls (eg a newsfeed, quick phonelist, login, etc.)
But the controls end up too 'deep': it appears that it would be
lighter/better if I could just enherit the uc_login.aspx directly off of the
uc_container.aspx so that all modules have the same...

Problem
I have an ASPX file, with a table of 3 columns, 2 rows with a usercontrol in
the middle column (in the code snippet stated below, although in reality,
the left hand column would also have a user control).
I have a "footer" on the second/bottom row. However, when the User Control
in the middle column, first row is generating a lot of text, the text is
"squashing" the text in the second role!

I want to install a few .NET assemblies on the local machine and then
embed a UserControl in IE via COM -- in other words, I will wrap the
assembly in COM and call it form IE so that my UserControl (that is
installed locally) shows up on a web page.
Has anyone done anything like this before? I can't imagine this isn't
possible. Basically I want to leverage a .NET assembly installed on the
local machine from inside the browser (with...

Is it possible to embed an image, like a company logo in a CDOSYS generated
message?
If yes, I´ll apreciate some code sample. I´ve been able to format messages
in html the way I like, but I can't figure out how to embed an image.
Thanks for your time.

I have a ASP.Net 1.1 application where I have several usercontrols, one is
called DetailLine, that I add to a panel dynamically. I am converting the
app to ASP.Net 2.0 and I cant do this anymore. LineType1 inherits from
DetailLine which inherits from UserControl.
1 Dim ucLine As DetailLine ' this line bombs
2 ucLine = CType(Page.LoadControl("..\UserControls\LineType1.ascx"),
DetailLine)

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
