C#-App: Loading a Crystal Report fails

2 New Member
I have an app, that when it calls ReportDocument. Load(filename), it throws an Exception that just says "Load report failed." Upon further investigation, the ErrorCode is -2147483136, the InnerException' s Source is "Analysis Server", it's message is "Failed to open report." (little redundant??) and under the TargetSite, the Module is {CrystalDecisio ns.ReportAppSer ver.ClientDoc.d ll}. Google searches and the error lookup utility packaged with VS turn up nothing on that particular error code. The outer Exception's Source says "CrystalDecisio ns.CrystalRepor ts.Engine". Also, the InnerException' s StackTrace looks like this, if it helps at all:
" at CrystalDecision s.ReportAppServ er.ClientDoc.Re portClientDocum entClass.Open(O bject& DocumentPath, Int32 Options)\r\n at CrystalDecision s.ReportAppServ er.ReportClient DocumentWrapper .Open(Object& DocumentPath, Int32 Options)\r\n at CrystalDecision s.ReportAppServ er.ReportClient DocumentWrapper .EnsureDocument IsOpened()"

I've tried to find that .dll that's named in the Module field, but searches on that file turn up nothing on the dev machine, another computer that has no problems, or Google. Both computers are running Win XP Pro SP2, the dev machine is running VS 2005 and the computer that works is using VS 2003 (both of these have Crystal Reports installed). Also, the filepath that's given to the Load() function is definitely a valid filepath as I'm able to navigate there and open the report file with Crystal Reports. If any more info is needed, just let me know. I'm starting to run out of ideas on fixing this problem and it's the last issue (as far as I can tell) that's keeping this app from rolling out to testing, then production. Many thanks in advance.

Quick update: Reinstalling Crystal Reports, Crystal Reports for Visual Studio 2005 (through the setup program on the VS disc), and Visual Studio have not helped in the slightest. This problem still persists.

I'm having a problem with Crystal report.net with ASP.NET. The problem occurs when exporting the report. The report uses a discrete parameter with multiple values. When the report is loaded into the crystal report view it shows all the values from the discrete parameter. But when I export the report it only shows the values from the last discrete parameter value enter. My code is listed below:

Hi, I have bumped into this issue where my application (which consistently reads the database) has to also create a crsytal report when requested. The crystal repost uses the same connection string as the application (i parsed the connection string and set the ConnectionInfo) However, the crystal report fails to logon and gives an exception : Logon failed. Error in File Quote {E2D18712-BD5A-4EE7-867E-79F137EB549D}.rpt: Unable to connect:...

Hi There, I have a need of displaying simple static image in my report which will be hosted in a WINFORM crystal report viewer. I have no requirement of loading dynamic images or anything. I tried googling which yielded results of only loading dynamic images. I am using a typed dataset for runtime supply of data to the report. And adding another table for the same report apeared a hazy and bad idea. I am using .Net 2.0. I remember having...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
