Crystal report - WinApp : Cannot connect to Sql Server from Deployed machine

Hi,
I have bumped into this issue where my application (which consistently reads the database) has to also create a crsytal report when requested.
The crystal repost uses the same connection string as the application (i parsed the connection string and set the ConnectionInfo)
However, the crystal report fails to logon and gives an exception :
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. Logon failed.
  2. Error in File Quote {E2D18712-BD5A-4EE7-867E-79F137EB549D}.rpt:
  3. Unable to connect: incorrect log on parameters.
This is only occouring from a client machine (which is an ideal machine for deployment). The development machines run it perfectly (the ones with visual studio on them)

I am using Crystal 2008 and have the runtime crystal12 installed on the client machine.

I ran sql profiler and found that the crystal report does not query the database at all. (not even a failed login occours)

I then transferred the database on the development machine and turned the firewall off on both the client and dev machine, still with absolutly no change.

Is there any possible check / solution or suggestion which i could use to narrow out on what could be happening.

A solution was found.

Installed the sql native client from which can be downloaded off the microsoft wesite and worked perfectly
This is supposed to replace the MDAC, and seems crystal reports (2008) does not like MDAC.

Hello All, I have a Windows application that uses Crystal Reports 9 (bundled Version) developed using VS.NET 2003 on a windows server 2003 m/c. The application has to be deployed on the client machine that has Windows XP installed. Before deploying we make sure that .NET framework 1.1 is installed on the XP machine. In the setup project, for support for Crystal Reports, we have added the following merge modules: 1)Crystal_Managed2003.msm...

Hi I have an application which has been deployed and worked fine on all previous workstations, it is c# based and uses Crystal connecting directly to MSDE using stored procedures and the ConnectionInfo object. I design the report on the dev machine, connecting to a local install of MSDE, I don't use integrated security on any of these reports. Once deployed the ConnectionInfo object is used to overwrite the connection settings for...

The windows app has crystal viewer which consumes the crystal report web service. The problem is, there is an audit trail report which I have to compare item by item to find out what got changed, and dump that into a dataset, load that dataset at runtime, create...

I want to be able to deploy my reports/web pages to another domain, web server, database and have the report connect via integrated security. 1. Hi, I've made an asp.net application which includes some Crystal Reports. When deploying the app to a Windows server 2003, I get a "Load Report failed" when trying to open a report. On my WinXP development machine I have no problems opening reports. Even on other XP development machines all reports work fine. I've deployed the app to a Win2k Server, and to my surprise the reports work ok! It seems to be an issue with Windows server 2003,...

Hello, I need help. I have experience in ASP.NET programming, but this is my first dealing with Crystal Reports. I'm trying to make the most basic report purely for testing purposes: connect to the remote SQL DB and create a report on one of the tables. Every time I do it, I get the Logon Failed error (CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.LogOnException: Logon failed) The internet search shows that this is a common problem,...

Hi Group, I've got an interesting problem, I don't know if this is the right group but I think so because everything I've read about it so far says it's a .net problem. Here's the problem, we're using crystal reports 9 and vb.net and we're using the crystalrepotViewer to show our reports. But every time we open a report the connection to or sql server remains, so if I open 5 forms with the report viewer I've got 5 sleeping connections in...

Hi I am interested in using crystal reports for the first time but have a few questions that someone maybe able to help with before I get started. The background to my query is that a client is interested in using crystal reports as a web based reporting tool to get data out of a sql server database and we have always created our own bespoke reporting tools but this particular client wishes to go down the crystal reports route. 1) We...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
