Windows Explorer after Office 2007

After installing Microsoft Office 2007 + desktop search, Windows explorer
began to give me all kinds of errors including a DR Watson, which I haven't
seen since installing XP.

I found a forum some where on the net that suggested uninstalling Desktop
search which I did. I got Windows explorer to work partially by that I mean
as follows:

1-Restarting the PC allows me to open Explorer once and as soon as I close
the open window I'm not able to reopen it or any other including Control
Panel.

2-Shuting down and restarting gives me the folowing error
END PROGRAM EXPLORER.EXE
This program is not responding.

3-Looking at Task Manager/Applications I don't see Explorer running, and the
Task Manager/Processes shows explorer.exe CPU=00 or 01.

The only way I can make Explore work is to open a window and keep it open as
soon as I close it I'm done and I need to restart.

Thanks in advance for any help
God Bless

Hello digrega,

This question best relates to windows or office NG.

I just recommend to use the System Restore Point to return you system to
the pre-destopSearch-installing state

I would love to but prior to installing office 2007 I had five restore points
after installing Office 2007 they were all gone, so I'm stuck.

Due to an earlier posting I read in this newsgroup regarding Office 2007 beta, I downloaded it. After I DL'd it, I got an invitation from MS to get WinVista. I am now wondering if, since both are betas, it is best to buy a new computer? My current computer setup is a Pentium 4, 1 gig memory, 2.66 ghz, 60-80 gig disk drive. MS's requirements for a WinVista computer is A modern processor (800mz)

We've been developing an application for a while which allows display of office/pdf etc documents within an iframe in a web browser. However, since installing office 2007 this has stopped working and instead of them appearing nicely in the iframe they now pop up and appear within the office program. Does anyone know if there is a way to alter the behaviour of office 2007 so that the documents remain embedded within the iframe, or is...

Sorry, couldn't think of a more descriptive title. I have a small program that reads in Word Documents. The program has been developed in Visual Studio 2005 in Windows Vista. The program also reads in Word Documents with Microsoft Office 2007. Here is the issue. When I put the same project on a different machine, running Windows XP, Office 2003, and Visual Studio 2005, it crashes as soon as I try to open the Word document. I put the whole...

I have a question for Beth Melton. Hello. This is Ray. I read an answer you graciously gave to another user about the constant popping up of "Windows Installer - Preparing to install". I cannot find anything to eliminate this headache and would be grateful for your insight and suggestions. Many people suggest running something like Windows Install Clearner (not sure that's the correct name), but on the ms website about it, we are...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
