Internet explorer shuts down

I have a new Toshiba Satellite laptop. It came with Vista and IE 7. When I
close an Exporer window (using the X in the corner) I get a message that says
"Internet Explorer has stopped working and windows is trying to fix the
problem" It thinks for a few seconds and then another box dialog box pops up
and says "Internet Explorer is restarting" It then shuts down every IE
window I have open and restarts. I also found that it does that even when a
program (such as the windows vista download page) opens another window and
closes it automatically. So I can't download the vista updates because it
shuts down explorer each time.

I never got a response but I tried the advice from other posts suggesting
resetting Internet Explorer and it fixed the issue. From IE go to
properties, advanced tab, and click the reset button. It seems the IE on the
tosiba comes with too many add ons. I'm assming one of them is screwing it
up.

I wrote a plugin to internet explorer that requires internet explorer to be shutdown and restarted. I figured out a way to shut down IE using the MSI and to start it back up using VBScript. I was wondering if there was a way to remember what webpage each internet explorer process was on and then open up internet explorer windows that open up to the URLs that the user was visiting previously. Any insights?

I have been working with for two days on a database with no problems(changing forms and adding code to the forms and a module). Shut down last night was fine, with no errors generated. This morning, I opened the database and I started getting the dialog "MSACCESS.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program. An error log is being created." with an OK button. Access shuts down. If I...

I am using VS 2005 to make a console app that shuts down explorer.exe and restarts it. I can shut it down no problem, its starting it back up to the same folder as the console app that is proving difficult. This code works fine in debug run but fails on final release: Dim strAppPath As String = Path.GetDirectoryName(System.Reflection.Assembly.GetExecutingAssembly.Location()) & "\" Process.Start("Explorer.exe", "/e, " & strAppPath) also...

I'm experiencing an unusual problem. When I run a specific make-table query on a computer, that computer shuts down. The computer shuts down completely, without warning, as if a power failure occurred. I can run the query without any trouble on other computers. I can also run other queries on this computer, including make-table queries which create much bigger tables. When it works (on other computers), the make-table query creates a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
