Hi all,
an interesting problem for regex nerds.
I've got a thesaurus of some hundred words and a moderately large
dataset of about 1 million words in some thousand small texts. Words
from the thesaurus appear at many places in my texts, but they are
often misspelled, just slightly different from the thesaurus.
Now I'm looking for the best strategy to match the appearence of my
thesaurus items in the texts. Do I have to build patterns...

I have a database with 100,000's records, each with a unique
reference, eg
A123BNK456
I would like to generate a search facility whereby we can choose an
exact match or partial match, where the partial match could be any of
the following:-
Partial match 1: 1 character maybe wrong
Partial match 2: 2 characters maybe wrong
Partial match 3: 3 characters maybe wrong

I'm using an .aspx tool I found at but as nice as the interface is I
think I need to consider using others. Some can generate C# I understand.
Your preferences please...

In another thread I found this snippet for validating an e-mail:
^(+)@((\{1,3}\.{1,3}\.{1,3}\.)|((+\.)+))({2,4}|{1,3})(\]?)$
Would someone please help to read this? I don't get the slashes, dots,
plus'es etc.

I must create a routine that finds tokens in small, arbitrary VB code
snippets. For example, it might have to find all occurrences of
{Formula}
I was thinking that using regular expressions might be a neat way to solve
this, but I am new to them. Can anyone give me a hint here?
The catch is, it must only find tokens that are not quoted and not
commented; examples follow

Hi,
I am using the following pattern:
"\\b" + MySttring + "\\b"
If MyString is "one", this should pick up whole words like "one".
The problem is, it will pick up also the word: "one.two" How should I modify
the patter to pickup only "one"?

I have a small utility program written in Python which works pretty
slow so I've decided to implement it in C.
I did some benchmarking of Python's code performance. One of the parts
of the program is using Python's standard re (regular expressions)
module to parse the input file. As Python's routines to read from the
file and regular expressions are most likely implemented via native
libraries I would expect that the C code, which reads...

Not sure if this is the right forum for this question but couldn'd find
another newsgroup.
I am new to Regular expressions and would like help in deciding which
pattern allows me to split a string into sets of words based on capital
letter.
For e.g. if i have a string "FirstnameLastname" I would like the result to
return me Firstname and Lastname.
The other conditions of the input string are
1) If whitespace exists, do not return a...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
