Hi all, As an exercise, I am trying to come up with a function to count the length of a char* string using recursion. I came up with this: int count_length(char* s){ if(s == 0) return 0; else{ s++; return 1 + count_length(s);

I can't make this script work properly. I've gone as far as I can with it and the rest is out of my ability. I can do some html editing but I'm lost in the Java world. The script at the bottom of the html page controls the form fields that are required. It doesn't function like it's supposed to and I can leave all the fields blank and it still submits the form. Also I can't get it to transfer the file in the upload section. The file name...

Hi, I need to calculate the physical length of text in a text input. The term "physical" means in this context, that I consider 7bit-Ascii as one-byte-per character. Other characters may be longer, e.g. cyrillic would be 2 bytes per character. Is there a safe and easy way to notice non-7bit-Ascii input? Cheers,

Hello, I need a regular expression to match a currency with its symbol, for example Pound66.99 must return 66.99 or Pound(66.99) or Pound-66.99 or -66.99Pound return -66.99 or any other combination return the decimal number. I have created a regular expression, but it seems that it does not work if the number is Pound66.99 but it works if the sign is after the number: public static Decimal ConvertToDecimal(String str)

Bear with me, as I am not a "professional" programmer, but I was working on part of program that reads parts of four text files into a buffer which I re-allocate the size as I read each file. I read some of the items from the bottom up of the buffer, and some from the top down, moving the bottom items back to the new re-allocated bottom on every file read. Then when I've read all four files, I sort the top and bottom items separately...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
