A97 allows separate procedures in a form module to share common
label names. Access 2.0 would puke when that happened. For instance,
if I had 2 procedures in an Access 2.0 form module with labels both
named ERR_MyButton_Click, compiling loaded modules produced
an error. I'm glad to see this is not the case in Access 97. Access
2.0 went so far as to disallow me from using the same line numbers
in two different procedures of a form module....

Hi all,
I am trying to access a public field of another form class within
the same namespace. The field is public, what is the best way
to access it from a different class? I defined as
private MyNameSpace.Form1 cForm1;
and I am trying to use it later as
TextBox.Text = cForm1.TextBox.Text;

I'm new to this ASP.NET caper and have the following questions.
I have a TestObject that contains about 50 fields of data and 3 member
procedures. Below is a simplified explanation of what I do.
At the start of each session I initialise this TestObject.
On entering every page I create a local TestObject and do this:
TestObject = Session("TestObject")

Hi Gang,
I've had this happen with a couple of controls now, but my patience has worn
thin. Can somebody tell me why I can read/write to most objects on my form
from my module, but not when working with StatusBar.Text?
Thanks in Advance,
Christian Blackburn

Hi,
I am having trouble with a form that I have loaded trying to access a
procedure on the main form.
The trouble seems to be that a Global Array that is declare in a Module is
producing a Nullreference error when I try to call the procedure on the main
form.
ie.
Module 1 contains

I am looking for Access reporting add-in that would be easy to use by
end users. My key focus is on selection criteria. I am very happy with
the Access report writer capabilities. As far as development of
reports, it is certainly fine in my book.
But for end-users, with little experience or training, it would be nice
to have an easy way to handle various selection criteria, perhaps with
relatively stock reports. I see easy to use by...

I'd like to access the name of a function from inside the function. My
first idea didn't work.

I am suddenly getting this message. It happens during code executed
from a form module that calls a function stored in a standard module.
I am working on a standalone pc with no network connection to
anything. After this message, access closes. Then when I go back,
all the module have been deleted from the form.\
MS error reporting sends me to a web page that says there isn't a fix
for the problem and that I should get Access 2003 (I...

this datagrid.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
