Connecting to Cisco VPN from Windows Mobile

It looks like one should be able to connect to a Cisco VPN using the native
Mobile 5 IPsec connection option. Alas, I cannot get it to work and web
searches turn up multiple messages where others have had the same problem. I
even found one where the poster mentioned the Cisco 3000 concentrator as not
compatible. We run an ASA-5520 which is (I'm told) an evolvement of the
3000.

I tried a copy of the BlueFire VPN client to make sure the problem wasn't
with the ISP (AT&T/Cingular). The BlueFire client worked like a charm.
That's great but I'm working on an app that will be rolled out to 350 users.
The $79.00 per seat license from BlueFire adds up to a healthy amount.

Is there not a way to create a Cisco VPN client using the .NET framework?
Failing that, is there a development package that doesn't carry a per seat
license fee? I'm new to IPsec and VPN (isn't it obvious) but I'm anxious to
learn more.

Thanks in advance

Hi,

It is a pity that the Microsoft Communitie pages is leading people to the
wrong newsgroups.

This is a software newsgroup. You are probably better of to look in a server
newsgroup.

Cor,

Thank you for your response. I figured because I wanted to create a Cisco
IPsec client using the .NET framework, then dotnet.general would be a
reasonable choice.

I just looked again at the list of MSDN Managed Newsgroups and couldn't seem
to find one that was a better fit.

Perhaps you can tell me specifically which newsgroup you think would be
better.

Hi,

Sorry, it is a mesh in this newsgroup at the moment, because the Microsoft
Webserver point this as the place for General questions.

Probably is the website from Dick Grier a change to find a solution.

I'm looking for anyone who is using these two products together. I'm having a difficult time finding information on this combination and Oracle and Cisco are pointing the finger at each other with neither willing to be of any real help. I've found nothing in any of the oracle database groups and a search of all the groups turns up nothing. Any pointers to resources other than Oracle or Cisco resources would be greatly appreciated. ...

First of all, sorry for cross-posting, but this newsgroup is much busier than "aspnet.mobile". I'm trying to create a portal page that redirects depending on the device that is connecting. When I use Request.Browser("IsMobileDevice"), it returns false when connecting with my iPAQ 2215 (and other Windows Mobile 2003 devices), although HTTPBrowserCapabilities "Platform" returns "WinCE".

I am having a devil of a time getting WSDL.EXE to consume a WSDL file that describes a web service (known as AXL) on a Cisco phone switch. The WSDL file references four schemas and (I believe) two namespaces via imports and includes. If anyone can help me look at the actual files, I'll be more than happy to provide them. What follows is the text of a post on a Cisco programmers forum that describes the problem I'm having. I'm posting...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
