In a recent thread there has been discussion about Data Access Pages. It
has been suggested that they are not permitted on many or most secure sites.
Perhaps, that it is so, although I know of no site that has this
prohibition, and I have uploaded DAPs to various sites and used them
from those sites.
I do not understand why any site manager would prohibit DAPs. To the
best of my knowledge DAPs, as HTM files, are merely hosted on the...

I know this posting may seem redundant, but I have not been able to get around this problem
I am currently using Windows 2000 Professional with Visual Studio.Net 2002 and IIS 5. I am not on a network, so my local machine is my development environment and my web server. When I try to create a new ASP.NET Web Application or even an Empty Web Project while logged into my , I receive the following error
"The default Web access mode for this...

Hi all,
I am trying to work out how I can use impersonation to connect to an Oracle
9i database such that I can avoid sending a clear text username and password
to the Oracle server.
We are using Windows 2000 and IIS 5.0. Currently the database and the
Webserver are running on the same machine (which I'll call MyMachineName)
Until now I have been using a connection string in the web.config file on an
IIS Web Server as follows:

Hi,
I'm getting the following error when trying to start my application
using Internet Explorer:
"Server cannot access application directory D:\xxx. The directory does
not exist or is not accessible because of security settings."
In IIS I have set Directory Security for my application to allow
Anonymous access (using IUSR_<Server>) and Integrated Windows
authentication.
In the web.config i have set impersonation="true" userName="test"....

I am working on an electronic flashcard application. I have one
version up and running using Visual Basic (6.0) and Access 2000.
My long-range plans are to put it up on a website and sell
subscriptions. But that is probably 2-3 releases away. In the
meantime, I would like to put it up on the website for testing.
I have been reading here and elsewhere that Access is not suitable for
a web-based implementation. Is that because is was...

I have a custom control that is embedded (using the object tag) in an html document.
The control takes a path to a local client ini file.
Reads the file.
Executes the program specified in the ini on the client's PC.
After the program has ended the control looks in a client side temp folder (specified by the ini file) for an image created by the executed program.
If the image is there, then the control moves the file to a public folder...

I'm looking for anyone who is using these two products together. I'm
having a difficult time finding information on this combination and Oracle
and Cisco are pointing the finger at each other with neither willing to
be of any real help.
I've found nothing in any of the oracle database groups and a search of
all the groups turns up nothing. Any pointers to resources other than
Oracle or Cisco resources would be greatly appreciated.

SAN JOSE, Calif. — Forget the switches and routers that built Cisco
Systems into a giant, albeit somewhat boring, company at the core of
the Internet.
These days, the company is peddling e-mail software, video
conferencing systems, cable TV boxes — even furniture — as it tries to
break out of the data center and get its products in front of ordinary
office workers.
“Cisco is kind of like the Madonna of networking,” said Mark Sue, an

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
