Are you asking how to save the data of the entire gridview or just the data for a row? To pass values for a specific row you could send the values using a querystring.

There are a few ways to accomplish this.

1. You can get the data for a row and save each column value for that row to a session variable. Then pass the value of each session variable to your querystring.

2. You can use the Eval statement to assign the values of your querystring.
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <ItemTemplate>
  2. <asp:HyperLink ID="HyperLink1" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("ColumnName1") %>'
  3. NavigateUrl='<%# "frmeventinfo.aspx?querystring1="+Eval("ColumnName1")+"&querystring1="+Eval("ColumnName2")  %>'></asp:HyperLink>
  4. </ItemTemplate>
Give one of these ideas a try and let us know if you run into any more problems.

Anyone up for a challenge? I've been struggling with this for a few days and was hoping someone could help me. Pouring through all the messageboards I just can't find the solution. We have a GridView that needs to be dynamically designed, depending on what collection of fields our uses want to edit for their product data. We have 400+ fields of information per product so they're selecting a subset of those fields to edit.

I have a user control which contains an UpdatePanel, which contains a MultiView inside, with a GridView in one of the views. In my GridView, I have a ButtonField which is supposed to trigger a server-side operation, using the RowCommand functionality. In IE, this all works great, but in Firefox (v2.0.0.6), clicking the above mentioned ButtonField fires off two similar AJAX requests, which is causing errors in my server-side code. ...

Hi, I have a ASP.NET 2.0 Web Application. Many of the pages use the ASP.NET GridView with paging and sorting. One of the columns of this Gridview is a template column (LinkButton). The data being retrieved and showed in this GridView produce more than one page of data. A given user clicks on the first row hyper link on the Grid on the first page, then the first row hyper link color changes to look as "visited". Then the user navigates to...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
