How to retrieve information from AssemblyInfo.vb inside web service?

Hi everybody,

I would like to know how to retrieve information from AssemblyInfo.vb inside
web service. I've tried many different ways including GetExecutingAss embly
or similar method but all are failed. My main purpose is the version number
stored in AssemblyInfo.vb .

Of course, nothing is stored in AssemblyInfo.vb . It compiles as part of your
application, and is linked into an assembly. Note that AssemblyInfo.vb
contains attributes. The way to get those attributes is through
GetExecutingAss embly().GetCust omAttributes. I don't believe there is any
other way.

You say that this failed. Please post the details of the failure, including
the complete exception.
