Drag and Drop like the sharepoint document library

35 New Member
Hi all,

I'm trying to figure out how to facilitate a window in my web application that will allow users to drag and drop files into it which will inturn trigger the files being uploaded to my server.

This functionality exists in sharepoint and I see that visual web developer has a section of tools for webparts so I assume I can somehow use sharepoint webparts in my application.

Anyways any help and advice you can offer would be appriciated - this isnt a mission critical thing I just currently have a document store set up in a sharepoint site and i wanted to bring it in to my parent app as logging into sharepoint is a bit of a pain and of course it is obvious to the user that its a seperate piece - kinda ruins the continuity of my application.

Thanks all

I found some drag and drop code on the web and modified it a little b taking out some of the stuff I didn't need. This sample allows you to drag an image in a table to another positio and swaps the images. Rather than just swap the images I would like t have it insert the image and move the other images down one position (or up) What would be even better is to have a radio button to specif whether you want to swap or insert the image. ...

Hi All, I am writting a java script library which will provide inter frame drag and drop operation. The more precise will be OLE drag and drop, which means only data will be transfered from frame to frame not any object. But it should happen in a drag and drop fashion. The requirement is, user will click on one object and will drag the mouse to another frame and will drop on some object the data will be passed by this and some action will...

Hello, I look at the asp.net 2.0 web parts tutorial on the asp.net web site. I tried to run it under firefox browser but it did not run. If I want to use this feature in a commercial product where the user can run on firefox/mozilla, what would be a good approach. 1. Should I overwrite the javascript code drag-and-drop to make it more browser independent. If I want to go this route, can anybody provide me a

There are some files in a Sharepoint document library that I need to access from a C# Webcontrol. The problem is that when the user runs the ASP.NET webpage they will be coming in with a non-privileged account. In the C# program I would like to access the Document Library (using my credentials) and make the proper file(s) available. I would like to pull the files locally where I can provide them access. One thought I had was to have the...

The issue I am having is that I would like to be able to drag-and-drop div elements that have rounded corners.* Since these elements will be dynamically created (including background color), I could not use the "standard" rounded corner method of sliced images for the corners (since that would only allow a certain color to match) I tried using a corner-rounding js tool from http://openrico.org, but it failed miserably (in both IE and Opera) ...

I´ve also commented the whole code so you guys can easier understand it engine. What exactly we need when trying to make a column drag &...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
