video and sound issue

I have just bought a computer from the US and I live in the UK. I have loaded
a UK windows XP. The computer uses a sound chip .
Specifications:

Motherboard
Jetway J7F2WE1G5D-OC-PB

CPU
25 Watt VIA C7

Hard Drive
200GB 2.5" Toshiba SATA

RAM
512MB Kingston DDR2 PC4200/533MHz

DVD Drive
Slim External Self Powering USB 2.0 Panasonic 8124b DVD ROM/CD R/RW

Power Supply
80 Watt DC-DC

Power controller
Automatic Startup/Shutdown Power Controller with Shutdown Delay.

the problem is that the video and sound play fast, I have updated the
drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, loaded the drivers from the
motherboard disc and it still does the same thing. I have had an engineer
look at it and he is stumped by it. The only suggestion he had was that in
the US they use PAL and in the UK we have something else.

Any ideas to help me?

A. I'm sure you're going to get pounded for posting hardware/OS
troubleshooting on a .NET programming newsgroup.

B. The US uses NTSC, not PAL.

Besides that, I can't provide you with much help. Sorry.

I need to create some specifications and budget request for a workstation (G5) and all necessary hardware and software for authoring online college courses. The course material would contain short bits of streaming video and audio, short bits of animation, text and webforms. (I don't have to consider serving the output) This has to be done before someone is hired to do the authoring. What software or specialized hardware would anyone...

Hi, I need to develop an application that displays video 640x480 16-bit per pixel with 30 fps. I would prefer to do that with Python (wxPython) but don't have any experience whether it is possible to achieve that frame rate and still have some resources for other processing left? My development PC would be a Celeron 1 GHz. The final system could be a faster system.

Dear all, I've got a video capture device. Device manager shows "nVidia WDM Video Capture (universal)" driver in "Sound, video and game controllers" category. Also, Windows Movie Maker, and other standard video capture tools can record video from the device. But, I've got no idea how to read transmitted data in a C# application. All I'm gonna do is to show the real-time movie on an appropriate control on my form.

We are trying to set up our site to allow presentations from our customers. We want to allow them to upload video presentations. We tried doing one here and if you double click the file it work works fine. If you try to link to it from IE or Mozilla (which forces you to download a driver to handle an avi file), it plays the sound fine, but not the video. It is just an video created from our web cam. What is causing the problem and if...

Hi, I need to write a software that allow to see the desktop and hear the microphone capture of a remote PC across a network. I need to do that for a unviresity assignement. Are there libraries for audio compression (OGG or MP3 or maybe GSM or something like realaudio) and video compression...

Hi, Two questions for you all.. Firstly, is there a way of streaming video using PHP? At the moment I just have a link to a video file and the whole thing downloads before playing which is a bit of a chore as the video file is pretty huge. Secondly, I want to restrict access to the video using a password. Can anyone think of a nice way of doing this? I thought about having the video

Note: My apologies for repeating this post from last week, but my nospam alias and profile account were incorrect. I think I have fixed this, so hopefully this post will trigger MS into a response per their MSDN policy. -------------------- I have a web site under .NET 2.0 that renders videos using the Silverlight media player. The web page looks like this: <%@ Page Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeBehind="video2.aspx.cs"

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
