Hi Sriii,

Microsoft has released a free .NET package that lets you use Ajax in your .NET web applications. You can get the framework from the official Microsoft ASP.Net Ajax website. There is a package there that has examples on how to use the tools that come with this package. It will help you out a lot (and its a lot of fun too!)

I'm not quite sure why you need to use Ajax to display a selected DropDownList value into a TextBox but if you end up getting that Ajax.NET framework, all you have to do is put the DropDownList and the TextBox into an UpdatePanel (set it's UpdateMode="Con ditional" for asynchronous postback to the server) and then set the TextBox's Text value to the DropDownList selected value in the Server Side code for your aspx page.

I'm not sure what you are asking in the second part of your question. You can implement your aspx pages to use JavaScript, so I don't see a problem with using all aspx pages for your project.

Hope this helps you

Hello NG, I've been doing some AJAX for a few weeks now. The basics worked fine so far, but now I've got the following problem which I can't solve: With AJAX you typically update/replace only parts of your page. But in my application there are situation when I first notice on the server -- so AFTER sending an AJAX request -- that I have to update the complete page instead of only some parts. And what do I do now???

Hi All, I'm new to Atlas and I did some programming using AJAX, but I'm wondering if it is possible to hava a javascript which can call a server-site function, in my case to write data to the cache, using AJAX. So I'm not looking for a possibility to wrap-up controls, but just to call server-site code from ATLAS. I know this can be done using AJAX, so in my opinion this should also be possible using ATLAS, or can ATLAS just be used...

Hi, I am trying to use XMLHttpRequest to do server side validation. I have several fields on a form and a submit button. The submit button has an event assocated with it when clicked. The javascript method will do the form validation for each field one by one. For each field, an XMLHttpRequst will be made to a PHP file and get the return, either set an error field (<span>'s innerHTML) or leave it empty. Then I'll check the error field...

Hi, I'm not familiar with web programming, but I have a problem here. I have a page. When a user click one button on it, I will use AJAX to request a PHP script which will do a bunch of tasks, asynchronously. These tasks might take long time so I want to keep the user informed of the progress. The problem is that only the PHP script knows the progress, how can the web page gets these information from PHP script?

Greetings! I was researching AJAX to provide a solution to displaying status messages while a long process executed. I found several examples online and was able to use their code to get a quick application working. However, when attempting to implement the solution, the AJAX calls weren't updating the screen like the examples were and seemed not to fire until after the long running process had completed. I found the only real...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
