I'm trying to use a small gif of a Christmas tree as a horizontal divider across the screen (which could be any number of pixels wide). My attempt at doing this was basically like this: <img alt="tree graphic (1k)" src="tree.gif" height="60" width="100%"> So I got a tree that looked like a funhouse mirror reflection - 60 pixels high, like I asked; but stretched fully across the screen. It looked like someone dragged a green...

Is there a way to force a change in a user's screen resolution using VBA code without having any input from the user? Example: User John Backwards has his screen set to 800 x 600 pixels. Backwards loads an Access app that needs at least 1024 x 768 pixels so the app, on load, changes the screen resolution for him to 1024 x 768.

Why an application developed in VB.Net on a screen with a resolution 12 TwipsPerPixelX and 12 TwipsPerPixelY will change the size (in pixels) of the controls when it runs on a computer with a 15 TwipsPerPixelX screen resolution. I mean, I have an application with a “Form” with 900 pixels width in a 12 TwipsPerPixelX screen and when I run it on a computer with a 15 TwipsPerPixelX screen resolution, same “Form” has less the 850...

How do I get the color depth of the screen/display adapter with vb.net 2003? Background: We're having transparency problems (long side story and known Windows "bug") that requires our systems to have the Color Depth or "Color Quality" (bits per pixel) of the display adapter (screen) to be 16 bits (Called "Medium (16 bit)" in the Display Properties Control Panel) in order for it to work.

I have a 30X16 cells table in my html page. Table height and width are set to 100%. I have set size of every cell inside the table to 24 pixel. When I open the html page in maximize state in either resolution 800 X 600 or 1152 X 864 it takes up the entire explorer size. In screen resolution 800 X 600, if I insert a pictures of 24 X 24 pixel in the cells it takes up the entire cell size (ideally it should as the cell size is also 24 X...

Hello, I am a .NET programmer and I have a JPEG image file (from digital camera) of about 109 KB's in size, when I open it and save it (without making any alterations at all, just going to File --> Save) in MS Photo Editor, the file is automatically shrunk in size to 81 KB's. When doing the same thing in MS Paint, the file is shrunk to 54 KB's. The file has the same number of pixels after both saves (as expected). My question follows...

I'm creating a thumbnail from an image saved in a db. If I write the data directly to the stream, the image shows up perfectly. Response.Clear(); Response.ContentType = myImage.ContentType; Response.BinaryWrite( myImage.File ); But if i try and make a thumb, the image is distorted. MemoryStream stream = new MemoryStream( myImage.File );

I try to do all css with percents and ems (elastic/liquid) so my displays look as much the same as possible, regardless the user's screen resolution. But I (still) never seem to get what I want. Compromises seem to lurk at every moment. ==========Static html for instance: font-size: 10px; /* looks drastically different at 768 wide compared to 1024 */

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development projectplanning, coding, testing, and deploymentwithout human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
