Hi guys,
I’m having an interesting problem with Crystal Reports. Thankfully, it’s
simple to explain!
I’ve got a report, and have added a picture to it. I configured the picture
to use a bitmap. When the report is viewed using the crystal report viewer,
the image appears fine. However, when I send the report to a printer, the
image comes out with a grey background. I’ve had a good look through all the
relevant report and report object settings, and can’t find anything to make
the problem go away. Background settings (and similar) have all been set to
white or transparent.
I vaguely remember hearing something about this being to do with the way the
bitmap is created. Apparently, you can get the grey to go away by saving the
bitmap using certain graphics applications, but I’ve had no luck with this
line of enquiry.
Does this problem sound familiar to anyone?
Thanks in advance for your help!

Ah! Solved it.
The image I was using had 24 bit colour depth. I decreased the colour depth
to 256 colours and it worked fine.
Obviously Crystal have decided that images shouldn't be too colourful! ;)

I have a problem with a C++ DCOM application that
prints Crystal Reports with data from Oracle.
The SQL query is relatively complex but when
the report is printed from the Crystal Reports
designer it shows up very fast. When the report
is printed from my application it takes about
ten times as long to get the report to appear.
When printing straight from the Crystal Reports

Hi all,
I need to figure the best solution to my problem.
<Background>
A Bill of materials application that has a treeview as the master and a
datagrid as the details. The treeview holds both master and detail
information but only displays a brief description. When a node is clicked,
if the node has children, it displays all Child information in detail form
in a datagrid. If it has no children, it simply displays itself as a row in

Hi,
Looking at reporting tools and was wondering if
anyone else has gone thru this. Crystal seems rediculously
expensive once you take into account licensing, while
Active is runtime-free meaning only developer licenses.
On a cost only basis, it seems pretty obvious but
what about feature wise. I simply do not have enough
time to do a drawn-out analysis and was wondering if
anyone else had.

WE had a Crystal 8 WebApp using vs 2002 which we upgraded to VS2003. I also
have Crystal 9 pro on my development machine. The web app runs fine on my
dev machine but am having problems deploying. I created the websetup and
built the MSI, have the bundled version. Copied to webserver and ran
Websetup.msi. Said I had to remove old version, which I did, then reran
WebSetup.msi and keeps giving me this error. "The installer was interrupted...

I have an ASP.NET intranet application that uses crystal reports 9. I have
three HP printers installed on the web server (windows server 2003). For
the past 6 months I have had no problems with printing to any of these
printers. Just recently when printing to one of the three printers I
occassionally get the following error when trying to print a crystal report,
"The request could not be submitted for background processing.". I have...

Hello, I have 7 different crystal reports that need to be collated.
Since I want to end up with a page of each (which all together make a
single report), I created a blank main report and then added the 7 as
subreports so they can print one after the other. I'm supposed to be
printing them from a VB.Net 2003 application and I will be passing 2
parameters (start and end dates). These reports are huge (over 1000+
pages each).
My original...

Hey everyone how are you all doing?
I am trying to use the imagerotate GD function to place an image on top of another image at an angle. Obviously when it rotates an image it creates a rectangular image big enough to fit the angled image inside with the background colour of this defined in the third arg of imagerotate. The problem i'm having is i want to make this background colour transparent so when i copy it on top of my existing big...

A customer is reporting that all reports are printing with a greeny
background. When previewed they have what looks like a light-grey
background.
I can see this as they are not local. They say other things like Word
documents print fine, only the Access reports are doing this.
They print fine on my system. They all are formatted for white backgrounds.
This is a 2000 database. They are using 2003. I have used the db in 2003 and

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
