VB2005 not deploying properly

Tym
I've googled until I'm blue in the face - nowhere can I find the solution to
this....

Developed my first real app in vb.net 2005. works great on my PC and my
laptop (which also has VB.Net 2005 installed on it)

The app also installs in my friends new Dell laptop

However, on my other PC and another laptop it won't run.

System.IO.FileN otFoundExceptio n: Could not load file or assembly 'ADODB,

Version=7.0.330 0.0, Culture=neutral , PublicKeyToken= b03f5f7f11d50a3 a' or one

of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified.

File name: 'ADODB, Version=7.0.330 0.0, Culture=neutral ,

PublicKeyToken= b03f5f7f11d50a3 a'
It's not a versioning issue - the target PC _DOES NOT HAVE_ ADODB on it
ANYWHERE - even though I've installed the DonNetframework .

What am I doing wrong? The app has the references to ADADB in it fine, so
what's wrong with the delpoyment??

I noticed that on the "faulty" PC, there are only two files in the
C:\Program Files\Microsoft .NET\Primary Interop Assemblies directory whereas
on mine there are quite a few including adodb.dll

Thanks william and Svenc:
finally some help...from you guys...thanks
we don't use the old ADO (we use ado.net),but surelly that crystall reports
DO (is a very old COM reporting engine even the las XI version - I beleive.) .
are you aware of crystal reports?
How do we find out if we need adodb.dll? or do we need to linked if we do?

Open Depends.exe from %ProgramFiles%\ Microsoft Visual Studio

From Depends.exe open you executable which does not load. Press F5 and
watch the output messages of Depends.exe. It shows which dlls are loaded
and which fail to load. That should help to identify which dependency is
missing.

William: since WF 2.0 does not have Ado, where do get it from ?
I step into MS when vs2003 and crystal reports was 8.5, all worked fine,
(also WF1.1 was stil around) then we compiled the proj with VS 2005 and since
then, we cannot run the reports...(Our users are still using vs2003 proj,

can we copy ADODB.dll to the users., can we make it part of our install (of
course, if this is the missing file), last: how can we get this msg to report
the missing file.
I read couple of days worth of internet File not found error message all
over many conditions.

Thanks , keep up with your books too.

You can add a COM reference to "Microsoft ActiveX Data Objects 2.8
Library" from the Add Reference form.

I just want to make sure we are on the right track.
There are two things I care:
Finding what file not found is missing.
second is waht ever is missing if can be shipped to final user, be part of
the install in other words.
since we dont know which file is missing, (we guess is ADODB.dll which I
copied to the folder and still ahve the same error) will wait til then.

now back to the COM... why do I need to start playing with COM objs whe I
never did?
I only heart COM, but I never use them myselfe. so do you think we have to
mess aroud with COM?

in simple Developer terms, COMs were installed on Pcs (they existed) when we
were using Vs2003. Do you recall what have changed on COMs?

Thanks to all who replied -
I've googled a bit more and found that by adding an assembly to the
deployment project for ADODB, it seems to install correctly now.
