Hi,
I am using the data access application block successfully in our development
environment, however when I deploy to our testing server as Private
Assemblies I keep getting the following
Configuration Error

I think some of the changes to Asp.net are rediculous. Take the
ability to deploy source code to production that is compiled on the
fly.
If this is such a great model, why not distribute your source code with
your Windows Forms apps too?

I fairly have my Web Service working the way that I want, so my next step
will be to deploy it on a server. Do I just add a deployment/install
project, build it and install it on the server?
TIA!

I do not know why this happen, and it does not happen ALL the time, but
it does happen on a fairly regular basis, and when it does, it causes
real problems. If anyone can tell me
how to prevent this, and moreover, how to FIX it, without having to
bounce
IIS, I would REALLY appreciate it! This problem is occurring on IIS
Advanced Server 2003. Have not tested this on Server 2000. I am
guessing the same.

Hi everyone!
Today I had the first demonstration of my Website and I realised that I
couldnīt access to it from another PC different from mine... I had
been reading tutorials and I have seen the posibility of putting it in
a IIS Server as with ASP.NET 1.0 but... isnīt there any other simplest
way to do quick demos..? isnīt it supposed to include a 'light
webserver'...?
Thanks in advance for your help!!

Is there any way to save a VB 2005 created application as an .MSI install
file? The only method I see is to publish as a .EXE. Curious because I
want to push out an application with Group Policy.
Thanks,
Ryan

Hi..
I would not like my customers to have access to any SQL code that is
being packaged with our product and hence would like to encrypt it in
some fashion. What's your recommendation on packaging/deploying .sql
files?
Would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,

I am trying to deploy a WCF Service on one of our Windows Server 2003
machines so that I can access it from a second machine. I have tried
creating WCF Service library and a WCF Service Application. I have an
asp.net program that uses the service that I have also created. Everything
works fine on my development machine but as soon as I try to deploy the
service on the server I can no longer access it. I have tried accessing it

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
