Deploying WCF Service

I am trying to deploy a WCF Service on one of our Windows Server 2003
machines so that I can access it from a second machine. I have tried
creating WCF Service library and a WCF Service Application. I have an
asp.net program that uses the service that I have also created. Everything
works fine on my development machine but as soon as I try to deploy the
service on the server I can no longer access it. I have tried accessing it
from a second machine and I have tried installing everything on the server
but the asp.net program still can not access the service. Is there any good
tutorial out there on how to deploy a WCF service. MS has made it easy to
add a service reference if the service is in the solution but they do not
make it easy to set it up in real life. Thanks in advance.

Baffled,

Well, they probably have made it easy, you just might be missing
something minor.

What kind of authentication and binding are you using? It's possible
that if you are using Windows authentication on the binding that you are
using that you don't have your service configured to allow the ASPNET user
access to the service.

I was able to get this working. First in visual studios I changed the
outpath on the service project so that it created the binary files at the
second server.

I then had to change the website to allow anonymous logins. This was done
by managing my application server, Selecting the web site right clicking and
selecting properties. I then selected the Directory Security tab and clicked
the Edit button in the Authentication and Access control section. You will
see the checkbox there.

Hi there: I'm a veteran to ASP.NET 1.1, but new to 2.0, and I'm using VS 2005. When I run the app on my local machine, using the built-in Web server, I have no problems, but deploying the site to a 2003 Server machine (which is also running several 1.1 sites) throws a persistent 404. I've looked around and found several references to the app_offline file, for which I've searched exhaustively and found nothing. I'm essentially running...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
