Hi to all you wonderful people, have read some of the answers re:- system
restore, but non of the questions seem to fit my problem.
Windows XP Home Edition Version 2002 Service Pack 2
When I open up it originally gave me the option of todays date and the
previous restore point was March 21st and backwards from there. Non of them
worked. I tried to make a new restore point for today and it said
"System restore is not able to create a store point. Please restart the
computer, and then run system restore again"
I tried this several times, still no luck. Went to microsoft and ended up
here. I read a couple of posts that gave me hope, so I switched off the
system restore, rebooted, in the hope of starting afresh, again, no such
luck. Still the same message comes up. I have checked that the Task Manager
and the System Restore are running and it appears they are.
I have read further that I really need to keep these restore points up to
date, and which I will do so if I can get them working, any ideas good folk.

Marc, first let me apologise if I have come to the wrong area. As I am
completeley new to the district I would ask you for general directions as to
where I should post this please. I am truly sorry if I have caused problems
and would love for help to rectify it, thank you.

actually found the right place here under XP/ windows. I should have looked
round more carefully, thank you again for your time.

For the past couple of months, Idle won't start when I invoke it. I
am at a complete loss for why this is. When this happens, they python
command line still starts, and python works fine otherwise.
Most interesting to me is that a reboot won't fix the problem. But if
I just try it again sometime later it will work. Anyone have any
ideas? I'm running python 2.3 on windows 2000 professional.

Hi,
I'm using Windows XP SP1 with Visual Studio 2003. I add a
blank form to a project, then I add a default control of
any type (label, button, etc) to that form. When I build
and run the project, it gets
a 'System.ArithmeticException' error at the point where
it's adding the control to the 'Controls' collection of
the form. Again, both the form and control that I add
have default properties. I don't even change the name.

According to 7.20.4.5 of n869, system() can report whether the host
environment has a command processor (when passed a null pointer).
Obviously, if there is a command processor, non-null string arguments
to system() are passed to it. However, the text doesn't specifically
state what occurs when there is no command processor to pass strings
to. Presumably this is nothing, but should that be obvious from the
text?
