Hello,

The last days I have done the same trouble. After look into a few hours, I have found out the below explanation:

This issue happens more frequently for the assemblies coming from VS 7.1 project which enables version auto incrementing on each build by default. So if the dll "A" reference dll "B" and we only have an older version of B, you will get this error. You should rebuild all the projects in one solution, including "Momentum.Model " and "Momentum.DataA ccess.ProductDa ta", or turn off the version "auto incrementing"(O pen AssemblyInfo.vb and set the "AssemblyVersio n" into "1.0.0.0")

The url is: http://connect.microso ft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/ViewFeedback.as px?FeedbackID=1 22707

I've followed these instrustrucions , and the error has dissapeared.

I hope that this helps.

Regards.

Don't try to solve the problem. I've found a way -- around or fixing it. I'm just curious as to whether this is Microsoft's problem in their compiler or if there's a standard saying this is to be true (not necessarily an internal compiler error, but still an error) This may just a bit OT, but I decided to post it here instead of Microsoft because my question is more directed towards standards... Of course, any other day I would have...

Hi, What C statement(s) would translate to indirect jmp in assembly? I know that function pointer invocation would translate to indirect 'call' instruction, but I am not sure what will lead to indirect jmp (eg. jmp <register>). Ganesh

Hi, I have a compiling problem. Please take a look at the code below. I have an application that is built upon three tiers: one data tier (Foo.DataManager), one business tier (Foo.Kernel) and one web presentation tier (Foo.WebFiles). The data tier shall only be accessible thru the business tier so I do NOT want a reference to the data tier in the presentation tier. In the business tier I have a class with the name CategoryItem that...

Hi to all, I have spent 3 days at this error and i have two days to go for a deadline, and i am about to go off my nut, the reason being: Microsoft dont seem to be able to provide a solution, I have trawled the web and the few that have the same error have not being provided a fix. This error occurs if i make the slightest change in my project. If i REBUILD my project no error occurs. So i keep having to rebuild my project - this is not...

I thought I would pass this on, as I have oft' seen this problem reported, with no solution. The problem is that in a solution containing several projects, the compiler will sometimes report a selection of errors that are quite false. For example, on one build the error "... cannot handle event because they do not have the same signature" might be reported. Build again and the problem goes away. Change something unrelated and the problem...

Greetings, My group has an SDK that was developed 5 years ago with VC++ 6. Over the last years, the requests for a VS.NET SDK has reached critical mass and I am now in the process of doing that. Actually, the first release of this 'port' is be a simple rebuild of the unmanaged C++ SDK in VS.NET. I have done this part already, using VS.NET 2003.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
