Problems with Icons using Manifest File [VB.NET 2002]

1 New Member
I'm new to posting but have been using past help so I come seeking some.

I'm using VB.NET 2002 writing a form that contains both a TreeView and a ListView. I'm using the commonly mentioned SHFILEINFO to get icons for known file types. For a while I was having a problem with a black border around them until I learned you use a <filename>.exe. manifest file, which got rid of the borders.

This seemed to work until I decided to make a custom control containing both the TreeView and ListView (it made it easier to use these items in other projects). Now the black border will disappear for the TreeView but still shows up for the ListView. I would like to keep the two in the custom control while still ridding both Views of the border and I appreciate any help.

This is quite frustrating! In the documents, and in the newsgroups, I see simple instructions like the following: =============================================== ==========Beginning of Ray's example================= =============================================== Suppose you want to run class com.xyz.Main. Then create a manifest file like this: ======== main.mf starts on the next line ====

Hi all, I'm creating an addin for the .NET IDE, and have the following problem. It's using C#, and is packaged into a installer with the .NET 2002 version. Obviously, this results in the 7.0 version of Microsoft.VisualStudio.VCProjectEngine.dll being packaged. Now, I need the addin to work with both the 2002 & 2003 version of .NET. For people who have both versions installed (which is my case), there's

Greetings, I have a .dll, create in .NET (2002) v1.0 Framework and recently upgraded to .NET (2003) v1.1 Framework The problem is when I add .NET componets from the .dll into the toolbox for VS.NET (2003), my icons are missing colors (IE. Black). However, if I install the same .dll into VS.NET (2002), my colors are there. Now, does anybody know if the way VS.NET looks at the "bitmap resources" within my .dll have changed? Or better...

In my C# application, I want to make my controls have the look and feel of XP (what a novel concept, I know.) I am running Visual Studio .Net 2002 on Windows XP Pro I found articles on the web that explain to 1) Create a file called myapp.exe.manifes 2) Make the contents of the file <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes"?><assembly xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:asm.v1"...

I am workin on a 2 part project right now. The first part is a DLL, the second part a normal exe using that DLL. When I use the VS2005 standard setting for compiling with the Multithreaded-DLL runtime library (compiler option /MD )everything works fine on my PC. But when I try to run the thing on a friends PC or my laptop I get: "This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect.

I have a Web Service that was originally created with .NET VC 2003, and subsequently converted to the 2005 version. It works fine when built as a debug version, and run on the workstation it was built on. Now I want to build a release version so I can deploy it to Windows 2003 server. This project is compiled with "/clr:oldSystax". I've run into several problems and I am not sure all of the things I am discovering are related. Any help...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
