Why are my icons of XP type ugly?

yxq
Hello
I am using VS.Net 2002, my icons of XP type look ugly, and i have saw the
article.

i have added the manifest file. Sometime the icons show very good, but
sometime the icons look
very ugly.

Must i use the VS.Net 2003? Is The Framework v1.1 necessary to run VS.Net
2003 program?

VS.NET 2002 doesn't work with the Framework 1.1.

There is a special ("cheap") upgrade offer available for $29 US. This offer
is open only until September 30, 2003. You will get more information about
this offer here:

Hi yxq,

It's possible that the icons are 48x48 in the icon file and are being
reduced down to 32x32 which will mean a loss of quality.

Always or sometimes? All icons or some icons?

I want to use embedded icon resources for my file type associations, but only the app.ico seems to show up when I go to choose the icons in the setup File Types editor. The same thing when I try to use Windows Explorer to view embedded icons in my compiled EXE. Does anyone know how to compile such that the icons will show up as standard resources? Or how to add the icons to the executable after compilation without breaking anything?

I know, this won't be any standard HTML -- I'm looking for a way to disable the image icons bar introduced in IExplorer6 (something like autocomplete="off", but for images). Or, even the correct name of this thing would help me (my browser's in German). Thanks. -- Google Blogoscoped http://blog.outer-court.com

Ok. I want to settle this once and for all. After looking at the source for various, rather sizeable (but not all were so big) web sites that use icons that show up in the addressbar beside the address itself. Just about all websites that use said icons use one of these two methods (some use both even) to make them appear (in the code of a webpage.) : <LINK REL="icon" HREF="/icon.ico" TYPE="image/ico"> <LINK REL="SHORTCUT ICON"...

I am trying to use icons as the image files in the SRC attributes of IMG elements. This seems to work with Mozilla but not with other browsers. The icons were created using an icon editor or extracted from executable files that contained icons. They all have the extension ..ICO. My Web server has an .htaccess file that contains AddType image/ico ICO

Hello all: I am trying to build a resource dll that will house icons, and I'm afraid that I'm not having much luck reading it. Can you lend hand (or just point me to a good primer). Here's what I've done so far: (VS.NET 2003/C#) 1. Created an empty project for the resource dll. Output type is class library.

i'm trying to embed multiple program icons in my executable. the only way so far i managed to do that is to embed native win32 resource file with multiple icons. it works, but... when i create a native win32 resource file with the VS 2005 and put there my icons, VS always converts some of the 32bit icons into 24bit - so i loose alpha blending what makes my icons look ugly. I did an experiment and created a icon file with full range of...

I'm trying to create a windows explorer like app and the problem I'm having is getting the proper icon for the folders and items. In windows explorer there are many different icons and most seem to be in the shell32.dll. The problem is that there also seems to be custom icons that are installed by applications. For example, "My Music" In My Documents has an icon that is different from the normal folders. I have installed an application...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
