Hi,
I want to load an external javascript file, get its results and stick
them inside a <div> block. I also
want to do this in several places on a web page.
This way the browser doesn't have to wait for the external resource to
load to show up the page,
thus giving a perceiving faster load time for the user.

I am developing an ASP.Net application for a client and they need to
modify the page layout from within a form. like the way you edit a
blog template in Blogger. what is the best approach to do that in
ASP.net? is there a better (and more secure) way than setting
permissions so they can edit the .ASPX files in a form? is there any
way to use variables in that template instead of <asp:label ...> like
the blogger templates?

I am trying to load both server and user controls into placeholder
controls on a aspx template page at runtime. These values would be
strings that are returned from a database query. I know I can do this
for user controls easily using:
oContent = (ControlBase) Page.LoadControl(Session + ".ascx");
this.plcContent.Controls.Add(oContent);
but can not figure out how to do it for server controls. since I do
not know what the control...

Hello,
I have a page with a RadioButtonList and a PlaceHolder control. The
RadioButtonList's AutoPostBack attribute is set to TRUE and its
SelectedIndexChanged event loads one of three UserControls into the
PlaceHolder's child control collection depending upon which of the three
radio buttons is selected. Each of the three UserControls have postback
events themselves triggered by button clicks. The problem I'm having is
keeping track of...

I have a site that has MANY different clothing categories. I have a
page set up for displaying the products (productsearch.aspx) when a
user clicks one of the category links on the navigation menu. I would
like to have a different user control that gets loaded as a sub-header
for each category (ie, tee shirts, shoes, backpacks, etc.) The category
user controls include images and links to refined searches specific to
each category.
So...

Hello,
I've tried a number of examples showing how to read the properties of a user
control from an aspx file where the code is on the html view of the form but
I can't figure out how to read them from the aspx.vb. Can anyone tell me
how to declare the user control in the aspx.vb file so that I can read the
properties?
I did add "Protected WithEvents UC1 As System.Web.UI.UserControl" to the
component code behind form but that's the...

I just don't get this...
If I need to dynamically load controls into a web page I simply need to go PlaceHolder1.Controls.Add(new Button()); or similar. However when I need to dynamically load a web user control into a web page then if we use the same syntax it will appear to work but the web control will throw all sorts of null reference exceptions.
Rather for web user controls you have to use the syntax ...

How can you get a class such as myClass.cs, to create a control such
as a listbox that wil be used in a placeholder control on an .aspx page
where the .aspx page has yet to be created so the class doesn't know
about it yet. (e.g so there are no dependencies in the class)..
So if there are 10 .aspx pages, page1.aspx, page2.aspx, etc. , and each
one has a control <asp:placeholder ID="PlaceHolder1"......>, how do
you
1. code a class,...

What would it take to send a page to a browser - and the HTML that comprises
that "page" is 100% generated dynamically?
Specifically, say I have all of the requisite HTML in a string variable. How
do I push that string down to the browser?
My situation is that I have a few .aspx pages containing very little
boilerplate HTML markup and several placeholder controls. At runtime I am
currently injecting the requisite HTML into the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
