I have a dll which is call by an ASP page, this dll has to perform read/write
operations on a file, I seem to be encountering the following error" Process
cannot access xyz.txt cause its held bby another process", is there any way I
can check if the file is being accessed by another process & if so I could
wait till that operation is done. If not is there a way I can make sure only
1 object of a class is created, the singleton approach...

Hi I have a web application that has a log off selection, just redirects the
browser to a form with a label displaying you are loging off. In part of the
application I open a new window and was wondering if there is a way to close
all windows associated with the web application when the user selects the log
off selection?

I have developed ASP.Net application using .Net 1.1.
I am making connections to legacy system (through proprietary odbc
connection). Sometimes the user will not wait for longtime to process the
data and simply close the browser and start a new session. When this happens
with more number of users, the subsequent sessions are becoming too slow.
1.. Will it degrade the performance of the ISS?

I have try implement this by MAC address. When user browser the web
site I sometime can get user pc MAC and sometime no.

Hi, I wrote an app in .Net and I whant only 1 instance of this app open for
the user; the user open my app, do some works and try to open another
instance of my app, I whant to show a message to user to inform him that only
one instance is permit and then close the second instance after that.
I am able to do this when the user run the application on his PC whit this :
Process.GetProcessesByName(Process.GetCurrentProcess.ProcessName)

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
