ADO.NET datasources NOT found by Crystal Documents in VC++

Hallo everybody,

I am working with VS2005 and have a major problem with VC++ and
Crystal Reports that has been driving me crazy for the last 1 week!

More specifically, my problem situation can be perfectly described
with the following simplified scenario: I create a new VC++ project of
type "Windows Forms Application" and add a new DataSet that I connect
to a dummy Access database that just contains one table. Then, I add a
new Crystal Report document and through the database expert try to
connect it to the created DataSet. Here comes the problem: the expert
dialog does not display the DataSet under the ADO.NET sources, even
after fiddling with all the possible parameters of it! It always
displays "no items found".

What astonishes me is that if I follow EXACTLY the SAME steps for a Vb
or C# project, the DataSource is immediatelly found! Help Help Help!
Is this a bug of Crystal Reports and if yes does there exist a fix for
it, am I missing something, or wtf?

I am using Crystal Reports in my application I made using Visual Studio.NET. I installed my application on the client machine, with all the DLLs required(added the merge modules), the engine and the rest. When I start my application and, from it, try to open up a report I get an exception "Query engine error: C:\WINDOWS\Temp\temp_*******.rpt" with some wierd numbers instead of *******. Can anyone tell me what the problem is here and how to...

Anyone having issues with their object datasources appearing and vanishing from the datasource browser? I create an object for binding as a datasource in my App_Code folder, compile my web project and it appears in the datasources in the report designer. Then I will make an aspx, setup a reportviewer control for my new report, go back to the rdlc and the object datasource sometimes just vanishes. I refresh, no luck.

We have been noticing that questions on vs.2005/2.0 don't appear to get much in answers so I'm reposting some questions posted by some of the programmers here in our organization that never got answered... There are articles on the new TableAdapters where it says that a key new advantage is that a single TableAdapter, which can have multiple queries, can be used on multiple forms. Now that was in an article on using TableAdapters with...

L.S., Hello is there a way to implement 2-way databinding without using the datasources from dotnet 2.0. Why would you ask? Now that's simple. I've created an object model with BusinessObjects and I don't want to write an separate provider layer for the datasources. This is because I loose all the benefits of my objectmodel. Are there other developers who think this way?

I'm using VS2005, C#, ASP.NET 2.0. I'm trying to create a report using SQL Reporting Services (to be used in local mode so I don't have to deal with SQL Server). When I create a new report in my website, nothing shows up in the Website Data Sources window. I added a few different strongly-typed Datasets to my website, and they don't show up. The only way I could get anything to show up was to create a new class that's derived from a...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
