Loading PNG\JPG Images in MFC without using GDI\GDI+

Hello All,

I have a MFC Dialog based application. I am not using GDI or GDI+
libraries. I need to load PNG and JPEG images in this Dialog Based
application. Can you suggest me how to to do without using GDI\GDI+?

Thanks in advance,
Reji

What are you trying to do with the image? Display it? Process it? Write
it back out?

What should the image look like after it is loaded? An HBITMAP? An array
of color table indexes? An array of RGB colors? With or without alpha
support?

There are many solutions availabe:

1) Microsoft's CImage class. Easy to use eventhough it uses GDI and GDI+.
2) Microsoft's Windows Imaging Component. WindowsXP, Windows2003 Server,
VISTA only.
3) Microsoft's IPicture com interface. Jpeg, gif, bmp, metafiles, icons but
no png.
4) Third party free libraries(e.g., Libpng, jpeg-6b, etc).

Hi, A little while ago I wrote a small program that allowed the user to view products from a database. The database holds the details of the products which can be viewed via a form and additionally pictures of the product are stored in an images subfolder and the database holds the file name of the relevant picture. The user can then click a...

Hello Members, I am setting up a photo website. I have decided to use PHP and MySQL. I can load jpeg files into the table (medium blob, or even longtext) and get the image(s) to display without a problem. I am using chunk_split(data) and the base64_encode and base64_decode on the files. I do a select from the database, and then echo the...

I am having issues using layers due to the different ways that different browsers display them. I need to be able to layer some images together as they work independently of each other. Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows.
