Installing VS Express ontop of VS 2005 Pro

I have VS 2005 Pro and Team installed and want to install Expression Blend.
In its install instructions it says to install VS 2005 Express afterwards.
I don't know if it actually requires vs express to run properly or if they
are making a huge assumption that nobody with VS 2005 will be installing
expression blend. if I need to install VS Express, will there be a conflict
with VS pro?

Hi,

The install page of Microsoft Expression Blend
(http://www.microsoft.com/products/ex...Blend/try.mspx)
reads:

"In order to edit code, if you do not have Microsoft Visual Studio 2005
installed, you can get a free copy of a Visual Studio 2005 Express edition
from the Visual Studio Express Web site (choose either the Visual Basic or
C# edition)."

So it is not necessary to install VS2005 Expression edtion to edit code, if
you have already VS2005 installed.

In addition, you could safely install VS2005 Expression edition after you
have VS2005 installed. These two products don't conflict with each other.

Hope this helps.
If you have other question, please feel free to let me know.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu
