Getting the current state of the mouse button without raising an event

2 New Member
Hi all, I am using .net 2.0.
How can I get the current state of the mouse button (e.g.. Mouse Button Right is pressed). I'm not in a mouse event handler routine.

What I wanna do is to check if the mouse pointer is moved into the range of another control while the right button is still pressed. So no event (pressed,...) occured.

This feature is available in .NET 3.0 but I can't find this in the .NET Framework 2.0.

I have set onmousedown to change the cursor, but this setting is ignored (IE 5.5; NN 6.1 on Win 2K Pro) until the mouse is either moved or the mouse button is released. On Opera 7.01, the setting seems to be ignored completely, even when I try with window.setTimeout. So my two questions are: (1) Most important: Is there anything I can do so that I don't have to wait for the next mouse event before the cursor gets repainted. (2) Why...

I have a button with mouse_click event when pushed. However it does not generates mouse down event. To fix this I could poll the mouse state every 10mSec and see if the mouse button remains down or up. I did a search on internet & MSDN and to my surprise, it seem there is no simple solution to actually read the flag relating to mouse button state. Is there way around this?.

I"m trying to figure out what concept I'm missing here, or if its not a good idea .. or what. Here is my example.. code is below. I have an employee class. It has an event that can be raised. In the constructor, I check the to see if the employees birthday is today. If it is today, then I raise an event.

Hi all, I am trying to get a way by which I'll know exactly when user goes out of my site by clicking on close button in browser, So that w/e user click close button in browser, I can send a signal to server. This seems to be achievable with body unload events, but it is little too much, as even if user navigate within my site, this event will be generated, this can be avoided by handling onclick of each link, so that I'll know exactly...

I have created a button widget with a button click binding. The button initially has a state=disabled. I can see the greyed out version of the button in the GUI. But If I click on the button it still invokes the callback/binding function. Any suggestions as to why the callback is being invoked even though the button has a disabled state. It looks like- b=Button(frame, text = "Button", state = 'disabled')

Hi there, I am trying to detect whether my IE6 users have pressed both right and left mouse buttons simultaneously in my Javascript code, by using: if(event.button==3) {alert("Both right and left mouse buttons pressed");} I am calling the above code on mousedown or mouseup events.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
